    There's no rhyme or reason to them, which is why I don't really pay attention to power rankings. I like to read the justifications they come up with, but overall I prefer Sagarin's ratings and the True NBA Standings, which I've been updating each Thursday. I'm also not a big fan of point differential. More often than not the final score doesn't give you a true indication of how a game played out.

    On an individual game basis, you could be right. But over the span of many games, I think point-differential is a very good indicator of how good a team is. Better than W-L record, imo.
