Bynum is a monster. Look at his quad muscle. Give him another off season to bulk up his upper body and this kid will be damn near untouchable.

Damn. He really worked out his legs over the summer. Next summer, if he focuses on his upper body the guy's gonna be a beast. All this and he's only 18 years old. Well, its a good thing we all know we have a player that will work hard for us. Unlike someone who only puts on weight in the offseason, and uses the regular season to get into shape for the playoffs........

Yeah Bynum is huge already, he just needs to learn how to be more explosive and how to leverage his weight. Dampier was knocking him around the post rather easily last night, which led to a lot of Maverick offensive rebounds. Once Bynum learns how to use his strength like Kwame, he'll be immovable. Bynum and the Lakers coaching staff have said Kwame is pound for pound the strongest player in the league.

EDIT: You're thread title scared me, I thought someone else got injured when I clicked it. You bastard. LOL!

Pound-for-pound he probaby is. Kwame is a beast and Shaq has a tire around his belly.

Kwame's much stronger than Shaq. I've said this many times on JBB, here I go again.

Kwame's last year in Washington, the second time the Wizards played the Heat, Shaq tried backing Kwame down in the paint. There was a problem, Kwame wasn't budging. All of a sudden, Kwame started pushing Shaq out of the paint. This happened all game long, it was classic.

I'd put my money on Kwame being the strongest player in the league, he's a flippin' beast.

Bynum's hands are massive...he most be popular with the ladies.

I'm not sure lbs for lbs, Kwame is the strongest. IMO, Earl Boykin is but Kwame is definitely one of the top 5 strongest players in the NBA, along with Shaq, Nene, Alonzo Mournng, and Danny Fortson.

Bynum needs to get stronger which he will, he's only 19.

If Kwame is so strong, I would like to see him utilize his strength inside the paint. Instead of shooting layups all day, the guy should go us and DUNK THE BALL! If only Kwame's hands were bigger, he should be unstoppable

Big Ben is pretty damn strong himself, especially for his height and weight. Lb. for lb. though, I'd put my money on Earl Boykins. I've heard he can bench 400 lbs.

At just 19, Im sure Bynum can be stronger than O'neal by 21 if he keeps hitting the weights.

This may be sarcasm and I'll probably feel stupid if it is, but now you're the second person who's brought up Earl Boykins in this thread.

Can he really bench 400? [IMG]

I'd love to see Bynum to put on even more weight in the offseason. If he continues to develop his upper and especially lower body, he will be completely unstoppable, like Shaq in his prime. He needs a bit better footwork though...

I have also heard that Boykins can bench a lot, but that doesn't equate to anything in the NBA. It's not like you see Boykins pushing anyone around. Bench press strength has nothing to do with strength on the basketball court. The reason Kwame could potentially be the strongest player in the league is because he can push other players around and get to where he wants on the court.

^The thing with Bynum though is the fact he lacked the amazing quickness Shaq had when he was younger (as well as footwork). But yeah, it would be nice to see Bynum hit his weight up to 300-310 without fat and losing speed.

    I doubt it's 400, I heard somewhere around 300-350. That's still impressive for a guy his size.

I agree he lacks Shaq's explosiveness and aggression towards throwing it down on people. However, I think Bynum's footwork is right on par with Shaq, right now Bynum lacks conviction in his moves and doesn't have the confidence Shaq had. Bynum tends to overthink when he gets the ball, instead of making a quick move and then ramming it down on the defender.

Once Bynum gets more experience I can see him being just as dominant on both ends of the court. We all have to keep in mind, he never played college basketball, and he barely played in highschool because of injuries. He's relatively new to the game.

Bynum can bulk up as much as he likes but If he continues to be soft inside and fails to attack the defense when he has a huge mis-match when being guarded by a small guy he will never live up to his potenial.

Confidence will be a major factor in Bynum's future success. I'm still waiting for him to bust out the Sky Hook. Apparently, he's close to perfecting it with both hands, but he's scared to embarrass himself in a game by using it.

Don't you guys play the Grizzles tonight? sounds like a good game to get that sky hook going.
