Whats this site about?

 

I think's its similar to that pandora site. You type in music or play your own and it brings up similar artists and music that you might like. Then it matches you up with other users that have played similar music every week. I'm sure there's more, but I'm just figuring out how to use it too.

Only one song. I'm trying to get a few cd's, but it's proving difficult.

And no, not really. You could stream music through the radio, and use like Replay Music to record it.

I really don't expect this thing to take off, but I know we have atleast a few music guru's here. So, basically, I just created group on Last.Fm called JustBBall. Basically, you can join up there, and see what other people are listening to, and through the actual radio streamer, you can listen to pretty much any genere you can imagine, and find artists that similar to the ones you already like. It doesn't really matter if you into hip-hop, indie, electronica, post-rock, classic rock, metal, etc.

Pretty cool, I actually didn't see this thread before. Thing is, this reminds me of my Yahoo Music page. I'll have to look into it more when I get home as I don't want to download the software on this computer.

Does it take our songs directly or similar artists? Because I've found that a lot of their recommendations are horrible.

The group radio, as far as I understand, it's just similar artists that everyone in the group listens to. So far I've been getting a lot of RHCP, Jack Johnson, and even Lily Allen from the JBB member radio.

If you want recommendations, you'd probably want to go into Last.fm and either listen to your neighbor radio, or go from tune in, instead of tag go under artist, and look for Jimi Hendrix or Led Zeppelin, or any other artist/band you like.
