According to the same source, stage two of Francis' buyout conversation, coordinated by agent Jeff Fried, is dialogue with Brown about his client joining the 76ers after he clears waivers.</div>

HELL NO! Wtf are we doing trying to bring in all these disgruntled players. Are we trying to rebuild? Are we trying to contend for a playoff spot? Someone please fill me in. I thought after we sent Iverson to Denver we were officially cleaning the slate. If Francis signs with the 76ers I will officially stop being a Sixer fan until Ed Snider sells the team and Billy King gets fired. I hope to GOD this isn't true. Our front office is so stupid it's not even funny

Yes! I love Steve Francis. I doubt this happens though considering Larry Brown asked Isiah to waive Francis shortly after he acquired him.

Signing Francis is just gonna slow down Iguodala and bring his numbers back down again, unless he's willing to defer and let it be Iguodala's team, then I'll be all for it, but other than that..nah.

It will also maybe put us in playoff contention so that would mean no 1st round pick (lottery protected) in this very deep draft. It would also mean no Greg Oden

I don't know why all of you are hating on Francis, but he could add some respectability to this franchise again. His stats aren't really good but the Knicks are LOADED with offensive options, especially at the guard positions, so obviously Francis doesn't get touches. The only drawback I can see the 76ers having is not getting Greg Oden, but the lottery is so unpredictable that even with the worse record you can end up 4th like Portland last year. I don't think Francis will slow down Iguodala's development. In fact, he should make things easier for him breaking down the defense and giving him a number of open looks. Besides, you guys don't really have to worry about Francis signing - he won't sign to a cellar dweller. I see him signing with a contender somewhere out West.

Even though he would be perfect fit to be a sixth man for a Suns, Dallas or Lakers, his ego won't stomach it and he'll be shipped to a team like the bobcats or grizzlies so he can be a #2 option

It would be interesting to see francis play for the lakers i think. however if the sixers sign him, i wont give a **** about this team anymore. They finally started making good decisions by choosing to rebuild by trading AI and hopefully buying out C-webb. Lets just hope king doesnt put us right back where we were at the start of the season.

    Francis Rumor Debunked

<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">Both Knicks officials and the agent for Steve Francis denied a report that they were discussing a contract buyout.

?That?s never been discussed,? Isiah Thomas, the team president, said in response to the report in Tuesday?s New York Post.

Jeff Fried, who represents Francis, called the report ?a false statement? and said that buyout talks ?have never even been contemplated.?</div>
