<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">For more than a year now, Percy Allen and I have had a $10 bet about whether Luke can dunk or not. He told us last year he could but I didn't believe him even though the guy is as honest as the day is long. Today I lost $10. After practice at USAirways Arena, Luke was doing the throw the ball high in the air, catch in on the high bounce and flush it with two hands dunks. It was so out of character that all his teammates were cheering him on. He probably did four or five of them. I couldn't believe it. I asked him why he doesnt dunk in games and he said he doesn't need to. I told him the crowd would go bonkers if the 6-foot white kid flushed one during a game. He smiled and said, "Maybe I'll do it."

There was another humorous (or disturbing, depending on your view) moment after practice. Rashard is traveling with the team, so he started playing Johan one-on-one on a side basket. Sadly, with only one hand, and it was his off hand, Rashard still busted Petro. He blocked his shot a few times, and this was all with one hand. He was not using his right hand, which he had in a brace/cast.

Bob Hill is using the same lineup on Tuesday that he used on Saturday in Golden State. He said he thought it did pretty well even though it lost. I asked him if this was a permanent thing or a quick fix and he said he didnt know. My guess is a quick fix. I cant imagine Luke coming off the bench for the long term, especially when Rashard comes back, but we'll see. Nothing has been permanent this season as it is, so I'm sure more changes are on the way. The good news is after this game the team gets 19 consecutive days at home, and Hill said he will use that time to rest and refine. Though I found it interesting that when he was asked if this was a good time for the team to make a run, he sort of avoided the question and said it would be easier to make a run if Rashard was back.</div>

Wow Lukey can dunk. I'll probably go crazy if I saw him dunk the ball.

He can't. I think he even admitted it.

    Not athletic enough.

Maybe better to say he doesn't have the vertical - somebody said it recently (mighta been Skiles) but athletic also means quick, reactions, hands, feet, coordination and Nash has that in surplus. Seriously, I've never been a big fan (probably because he's always played for teams I don't like [IMG] ) but this year after 2 MVP years I'm a believer.

As far a Luke, can he bench his weight yet??

I was reading something awhile back that Nash could dunk when he was younger. I doubt it now.

Agreed. Since when did athleticism become just another way of saying vertical leap?

I don't understand that either, same thing with individuals who believe cyclists are not athletes.

No need to be disrespectful. I just expected you to have a better opinion of a sport then that and not be judgmental. Given, cycling has the drug problems, it doesn't mean they're all dopers. Many of them are fantastic athletes. Learn some respect before you post ignorant comments like above.

Okay, Ridnour is 6'2, and an article has to be made on the fact that he can do dunks that I can do? I'm not hating on his newly discovered by others dunking ability, but it shouldn't be something so surprising.

The most unathletic 6'2 guy I know can even get above the rim, and Ridnour is definately more athletic than him.

He could when he was younger, not anything special, but too much energy, and who wants to waste their scoring oppurtunities. I don't think he can anymore, Nash is athletic, but not so much in the jumping way.
