It's as though the NBA doesn't want the Raps to win

Notice after this very 1 game on the nba.com site they had a feature right after the Nets just played the Raptors on the Nets home court about the Nets coming out as winners of the Atlantic division. After hearing what he had to say, he apparently judged the greatness of the Nets on this ONE SINGLE game for the rest of the season versus the Raptors? I found it a bit awkward as though they are discouraging the raptors purposefully, like right after the game, WHY did they feel the need to come up with that 2 minute feature about those 2 teams versus each other disregarding the fact that the Raps had beaten the Nets on their previous encounter? They felt the need to tell everyone that they think the Nets will come out on top just because of this one game. I just find it annoying, especially how in the rankings like no one expects the Raptors to be this good, yet when New York gets decent after years of losing, they would say something like "look out, the New York Knicks are coming".. does anyone feel this way, or is it just me?

I mean how often do u see something like that where the guy was commenting and it showed the Raps vs the Nets logo in hte background? As if it was so official in a prediction?

    I totally agree with you.
Once the raps start to win more games and get over the .500 mark, trust me, the rest will take of itself. CB4 will get the same respect like LBJ, Wade and MElo. The entire rap team will get the respect.
You gotta understand, this team has underachieved for the past 2-3 seasons. To earn the respect, they gotta win win win. You have to earn respect in this league, its not just handed over to you without winning.

I don't think there's an NBA conspiracy against us or anything, but we are definitely not taken very seriously in the sports media. It's funny, because there was a thread earlier where I was downplaying how big the bias is against us in the US, but then I spent a couple weeks in America and it hit me. Aside from the lack of coverage on the Raps, you just pick up little hints that people consider the franchise a joke. For example, I was watching SportsCenter and for the period that the Raptors were in 1st place, every recap of their games had the analyst making wisecracks about how such a crappy team could be first place and stuff. Very little insight into the team. Then about a week later, the Knicks overtook us and were in 1st place with an even crappier record than what we had earlier. I was expecting something similar, but the jokes about the Atlantic division were rare and they focused more on how New York were perservering after the suspensions and how they were starting to turn the corner, etc.

I agree that the media doesn't give enough insightful coverage of the Raps, but I don't think the NBA has it against the Raps. When watching the Raps vs. Nets game, I thought the Raps actually got a lot of bad calls their way to help us (Raps) catch up against the Nets.

How many national broadcast games do the Raps have this year?

I would guess none are "national Broadcasts" in the States.

Nationally as in across Canada, I don't know if the Score broadcasts across Canada, or if Rogers Sportsnet ever decides to broadcast Raps games in its West, Pacific, and East networks, while broadcasting in Ontario.

all games are national, thats why sportsnet a regional broadcaster only has 8 games this year.

What kind of expectations do you have for this man? He's averaging 21.2 PPG and 11.5 RPG and he needs to step up his game? I don't see how that is really much of a problem since he's stepped up in rebounding from his previous season average by a little over 2 per game. His points are down a bit because he knows himself as an unselfish player that he needs to help build the youth like Bargnani into prominent players by giving them the ball. That's the only way they'll get any better is by gaining confidence. Something that nearly killed off the career of Milicic, though I still believe outsid of others that if he gets his bearings together he could still become a great player. Chris Bosh has met my expectations that's for sure.

As for the Raptors and the NBA having anything against them, well, that isn't entirely true. The Raptors are doing well in selling tickets (in the top half of the NBA sales), however the NBA seems to be ignoring them. It isn't just the Raptors though and it isn't just the NBA that does this. In order to get a better perspective of the campaigns for sports we have to focus on other sport markets. This isn't some mystery, but people still don't beleive it. You'll have the answers to this in my upcoming article.

Buddy, Bosh has stepped it up, and is a huge improvement from last year. You can't expect him to put up as many points as Melo, Wade and Lebron. Sure all of these players are the first option on their teams, but gaurds tend to score more than the big men. Yes, Bosh could be capable of scoring as much as them, but he'd have to get the ball almost every posession; hows that going to help the development of the young guys like Bargnani? Despite all that, does Bosh really need to score as much as them? This year he actually has some help on offense with guys like Parker, Garbo, Ford and Andrea. However, that doesn't mean Bosh can't improve; rebounding is one way he's already improved in getting about 2rpg more than last year. Bosh has also shown improvement on the defensive end, the last 3 games he's been averaging around 3bpg. Really, I have no idea what you're talking about, with Bosh being a disappointment. If what he's doing right now is a disappointment, then your idea of 'success' or the 'level' he should be at must be unbelievable.
