A source told the Daily News late last night that Webber and the Sixers had agreed on the terms of a buyout of the remainder of his contract, and that the details could be finalized as soon as today.
The source said that Webber, who will become a free agent, would give back less than $5 million in the deal.</div>

This is good for our young team. Now the players that are here will be dedicated to improving their games, with no destractions. This also will be good when we draft a big man in this years draft.

Okay. So basically we'll still have to pay him 15 million over the next three seasons. Yeah. Great move Billy King. Does this guy know that Webber has a player option at the end of the season? Meaning that if he is really as unhappy as he seems, and if he really wants to win, Webber can opt out of his contract and go play elsewhere, plus the Sixers won't have to pay him. Great move Billy King you jackarse

Basically all we're doing is paying him 5 million less for 3 years. Which means we still have to pay him 15 million for the next 3 years. The better choice would have been letting him stay with this team for the rest of the season, and then if he really is as unhappy as he says he is, he can opt out of his contract

His contract runs through the rest of this year, then he had a player option, it didn't have three years left on it.

Yeah, I thnk that's true. That makes the buyout even more stupid IMO because if Webber doesn't opt out next season, his expiring contract will be worth a lot to teams trying to get under the cap.

I think the sixers were purposely not playing him so he would opt out after this season, but maybe webber just got so unhappy with the situation that he demanded to be bought out? can that even happen?

I really don't care at all. But I just hope Billy King doesn't sign Francis, if he gets a buy-out.

I guess this means our starting lineup will be:
    PG: Miller
    SG: Iggy
    SF: Carney
    PF: J.Smith
    C: Dally
