Rivals has him rated as the best PG in the nation and all the draft sites are putting him higher and higher everytime I look. Am I missing something here? Shakur looks like the same exact player from the past few years but only with his shot being a little better. Are these people serious? He's still inconsistent, turns the ball over, and makes stupid decisions all the time, just has superior talent around him to make up for his mistake. WTF do these scouts see that I don't, because he looks the same as he has all the other years
I dont think its just superior talent. I think it has to do with him as well, and his games improved. Plus there arent too many good PGs this draft. Its msotly big guys.

Like I said, Shakur hasn't improved much at all, he's still making all these stupid mistakes that he's done all his career, just being bailed out by superior athletes he has around him. As for not that many good PG's, your right but it's more about his potential more than anything. But in mocks, they have him over guys like Bobby Brown, Reyshawn Terry, Jared Dudley, Marko Tomas, Jermario Davidson, and a few others that I think can be better NBA players than Shakur because Shakur has been working with Olson for 4 years now, and Olson is one of the best coaches for guards. Shakur just doesn't except coaching that much is my opinion, that is why he probably isn't that appealing to me.

As you said, this draft class is very week in regards to pgs, with the highlights being Steele (not having a great year), Tywon Lawson (unproven and will probably stay at UNC), Conley (same as Lawson), Collison (good defender but not great offensively) and Shakur who is the most experienced of them all and has a great coach. So, like you said, a terrible crop of pgs compared to previous years is making Shakur look pretty good to teams in need of an NBA-ready backup pg. <div class="quote_poster">Chuck Wrote</div><div class="quote_post">He likes the sound of his voice. Seriously, he may not be the greatest poster, but he contributes to discussions and posts articles instead of making obnoxious, pissy little comments all the time...

Ah, yes. The Tyrus Thomas effect. I can't see any of them doing it though except Steele. The others teams' are too good, and guys like Afflalo, Hansbrough and Oden will keep them out of the spotlight.
