<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">With his buyout from the Philadelphia 76ers on the verge of completion, Chris Webber has established a Fab Five wish list of high-profile teams he'd like to play for.

Webber told ESPN.com on Wednesday night that 17 of the league's 30 teams have already called to register interest in his services, but the free agent-to-be hopes to sign with one of the following contenders: Miami and his hometown Detroit Pistons in the East; San Antonio, Dallas and the Los Angeles Lakers in the West.

"This is the best I've felt in three years," Webber said in a phone interview. "Now the thing I want to do most is win a championship, put myself back on that kind of level."</div>

I think he'll most likely end up in Detroit or Los Angeles being a nice possible replacement for Ben Wallace. LA's having injury problems in the frontcourt with Odom and Brown out and they're making a potential case for a shot at the title this year, so I wouldn't be suprised if he ended up there.

Miami can offer him the most money, Miami has great weather, and they're the defending champs. I give them the edge in landing Webber.

They mentioned in the pregame the Lakers had interest in Webber, and PJax was complimentary of Webber. He'd probably get the most PT in Los Angeles because of all the injuries to the frontcourt players, and the ineffectiveness of the healthy players.

I'd probably rank the Spurs second on the list, but they're trying to get more athletic in the frontcourt.

This is how I'd rank team's chances of landing Webber.

    1. Heat
    2. Lakers
    3. Spurs
    4. Pistons
    5. Mavericks

Let me ask somthing, how is it possible Miami has enough money to sign every single big name free agent that enters the market? This happened with Michael Finley aswell. With Shaq and Wade + all the other veteran contracts they have, I thought they'd be well over the cap.

I wouldnt be against C-Webb coming to play for us, although the obvious concern is how his knee will hold up.

C-webb is likely heading to the Pistons.

According to sources he wants to be on a top team while being at home.

But I don't see why 76ers would want to trade him to another Eastern Conference opponent

I think if he comes to Miami, he'd have to come off the bench. I like Haslem starting because of how he does all the little things for us.

Yeah I agree. Webber's got some old legs and can't move like he used to. He won't be too effective as a starter, but maybe a good player off the bench for the heat.

Ehh I think he might be at a point in his career where all he wants is a chamionship ring. We seen this in the best of players in the league at the end of their career such as Malone and Payton on the Lakers. I think he'd like to be a bencher if he can get a ring. But he won't get it. I'll tell you that right now cuz Miami's goin down. lol

I hope he doesn't end up on the Lakers. We're a young team, and hopefully it stays that way.

It's sounds as though we're going to sign him

<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">The Detroit Pistons are close to reaching an agreement with free agent Chris Webber, sources close to the negotiations said Thursday night.

Webber, 33, who had the final two seasons of his contract bought out by the Philadelphia 76ers on Wednesday, will return to his Michigan roots where he once starred for Detroit Country Day High School and the University of Michigan.

Webber, who's still clearing waivers, can't officially with a team until Monday. He is expected to sign for a pro-rated $1.87 million-a-season, 10-year-veteran contract.

All along, sources said, the Pistons were Webber's No. 1 choice upon leaving the 76ers. They would give him a chance to finally reach the NBA Finals and perhaps compete for his first NBA title.</div>

If Detroit does sign him, will C-Webb alongside Antonio McDyess come off the bench? If so, would Webber care about the playing time?

Webber wants to play significant minutes and I doubt he'll be coming off the bench. They'd probably move Rasheed over to the 5 and have C-Webb play the 4.
