<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">You surely heard Webber in his TNT interview. He barely mentioned the Pistons and sounded more excited about playing for the Lakers than anyone else. Kobe Bryant has already called to make his pitch, sources say, and Webber is admittedly mesmerized by the bright lights of David Beckham's town as well as Jackson's triangle offense.

Since Webber can't actually sign with the Pistons or anyone else until Tuesday, restricted to verbal commitments between now and then, Jackson might have enough time to convince the ex-King that he'd be better off returning to California, scene of his greatest pro successes.

The Lakers, furthermore, have a need for Webber now and later, with Lamar Odom and Kwame Brown injured at present and a squad short on playoff experience, Bryant aside, even when their starting big men are healthy.</div>

You can fly with Kobe in the Kobe Copter to all home games!

We have everything Webber can possibly ask for in LA. Kobe, Phil, Magic, Kareem, triangle offense, women, and of course, DAVID BECKHAM! We have David Beckham. How can you refuse an offer to play for the town of David Beckham. Damn. Mitch should tell Beckham to make a call to Chris Webber

Has Sasha called Webber yet? lol

Anyways, I think one of the mods should merge all the Webber threads together. It will make things look less crowded

We should go after both Rose and Webber. Good riddance McKie and Shamu.

Imagine if we signed both Webber AND Rose.

    pg: Smush, Farmar
    sg: Kobe, Evans, Sasha
    sf: Odom, Walton, Rose
    pf: Webber, Turiaf, Cook, Radmanovic
c: Brown, Bynum, Mihm * out for season

You know how deep that lineup would be? Not to mention guys like Odom, Evans, Webber, and Rose are very versatile. Damn. That would be the deepest team in the league

    First unit:

    pg: Smush
    sg: Kobe
    sf: Odom
    pf: Webber
    c: Brown

    Second unit:

    pg: Farmar
    sg: Evans
    sf: Walton
    pf: Turiaf
    c: Bynum

    Third unit:

    pg: Rose
    sg: Sasha
    sf: Cook
    pf: Radamnovic (after getting surgery)
    c: Webber?

Our second unit can compete for a playoff seed in the east [IMG]

We should have Beckham come off the bench for us! Anyways, it would be cool to have both Webber and S. Francis or Penny come off the bench.

Personally, I feel if the Lakers wanted Webber bad enough, we would get him. I saw a replay of his interview on ESPN, and the first thing he mentioned when they started the interview was the Lakers and the triangle offense. He wants to be here, no doubt about it. I feel if we really wanted to, we could definetly outbid the Pistons and anyone else interested. Again, it just comes down to how badly we want him. If we want him bad enough, we will get him

The one thing we can offer Webber that some teams are hesitant to offer is the likely hood of starting. What PF on our team is better than Webber? Having Odom at SF and Luke off the bench would only make this team better and deeper.

I think somewhere around 2 million. I think we can use our veterans minumum or something like that. Not completely sure, but I know for a fact that if we do sign him, it will be for cheap

About 2mils for 2 years or 1.2 mil for one year. Though the Heats can offer him 5mils, the right amount C-Web is looking for.

When you have Kobe picking up the phone and call you, you better come to LA! [IMG] Another factor that put the Lakers ahead in C-Web's wish list, the beautiful wheather and the girls [IMG]

Apparently this report was false. I read somewhere that Kobe actually didn't call C-Webb
