Against the Magic. He had 28 total and the guy scored 16 in the last 6:44 of the game to win it for em. That run reminded me of the old Lakers when Shaq and Kobe would be on the low until the ending minutes of the 4th where they would run all over the other team.
I love that Kobe's become a great team player but he has those moments (when he needs to) where he reminds everybody that he can still do whatever he wants, he's just choosing not to. 16 that quick is pretty sick, throw in 8 boards and 7 dimes and he had a great game.
Recently, Kobe's been letting the team run for the first 3 quarters, then in the fourth he takes over
<div class="quote_poster">Swish Wrote</div><div class="quote_post">Yeah, the refs did a nice job of assisting him late in the game as well.</div> you ??? I can see the Lakers had a few no calls as well, so the officiating wasn't blatantly one-sided. Remember, the Magic shot 4 more free throws than the Lakers.
Yeah Kobe still has teh killer instinct when the game is on the line, other wise hes mellow and smooth passin it around and this seems to be workin well for em too
Kobe is smart. He knows what he has to do in situations. If it's needed, he will get his teammates involved, when it's the 4th quarter and he needs to take it over, he does and he does it best.
Yeah, 16points in 6minutes is a great tempo, but i still think that 30pts in one qtr with PERFECT shooting is more amazing. But this was a fourth quater and he had to take over, Kobe is simply amazing.
<div class="quote_poster">authentiq Wrote</div><div class="quote_post">you ??? </div> We're still a better team, easily. Even with all the help from the officials you still almost blew it at the end. It's just annoying, and I question your legitimacy as a basketball fan if you enjoy it and take pride in the fact that the refs are onesided, or blindly ignore it. The Magic took the ball inside every time; the Lakers shot jumpshots every time; the Magic got hacked every time; Kobe got breathed on. Clean blocks were fouls for the Magic, and Turiaf's intentional fouls were ignored. Not to mention, at the end, Dwight was fouled away from the ball and should have gotten two free throws and the ball back. Watch Ronnie Nunn's show in an hour if you need proof. It ruins the game. It's not fun to watch when it's one-sided. Like watching that Timberwolves vs. Lakers game when Pargo got a foul call when Wally was 3 feet away from him. I like the Lakers, and I don't bitch about referees because I understand mistakes are inevitable, so save those prepackaged responses.
The Magic won't be a better team come playoff time. Lakers got Kobe who's experienced and has a ring. Odom is somewhat experienced too. The Magic has a young team, so they won't perform better, or at least that's what I think. And that'ss when you find out how good you are, playoffs.
I don't see how the Magic are the better team? Don't forget we've beaten you twice. This time, we were without our best post defender and our second best player.
Chuck chill, i was only kidding towards Swish. No need to "question my legitimacy as a basketball fan". That's funny. On to the game: The game wasn't as completely one-sided as you say, though. The overall flow of the game was pretty much even and if you watch the game again, the Magic had gotten some favorable calls as well. Grant Hill was getting calls, Kobe was getting calls, Dwight had gotten some calls etc. Sh*t happens, and it just so happened the calls were going to the Lakers in the final minutes. Like I said, the Magic(in the end) had gotten 4 more FTA than the Lakers. I do feel you on the sheer fact the Lakers took far more jumpshots than the Magic 20+ feet out, but the Magic and Lakers had taken just about as many jump shots from 10 feet in. I do agree withj your statement that the Magic are better than the Lakers right now. However, the Lakers are a far better team than the Memphis Grizzlies and look what happened, so insinuating a team should win because "they're better" makes the arguement void. Also, despite the fact the Magic were "better" (Without Odom, Kwame, and a healthy Kobe) your team still managed to lose.
I agree there were some questionable calls, on both sides. Listen, say all you want about the officiating, but in the end, the Magic shot 4 more free throws than the Lakers. I wouldn't call that biased, especially against the Lakers. Maybe if the Lakers shot 10 more free throws than the Magic, we may be talking, but in the end, the Lakers shot 4 less free throws than the Magic. How is that biased?
Dwight missed some clutch FT's and it IS the magic's fault that we lost, but some of the calls were so blantantly obvious that it should have been called or shouldn't have been called. I would much rather not get calls in the first 3 quarters and then get so many in the 4th. Seriously on that one that Turiaf fouled Dwight when he didn't have the ball, how can you possibly say that the ref made the right call that the Magic don't get the ball back. On another one, Dwight grabbed a rebound, Turiaf pushed Dwight out of bounds and while he was falling, he grabbed Dwight's arm, pulled the ball away and then passed to Kobe who got an and 1. Seriously Dwight got absolutely raped so many times that weren't called. I know he got 15 FT's, but he should have gotten more. Grant Hill did get some nice calls, but that was end of 3rd quarter, just beginning of the 4th. He didn't get anything down the stretch, like the Lakers did. Whenever Kobe did not make the shot at the end of the game, they made sure that a call occurred so that they could shoot FT's. I'm not one that normally bitches about foul calls either, but when it is so blatantly biased at the end of the game, I have to say something. I don't blame the refs for the Magic losing the game, we still had enough opportunities to still win the game. Dwight couldn't make FT's, we turned it over, and we couldn't get some stops at the end. I'm just mad that the Lakers got a handicap at the end of the game.

Firstly, you have a worse record in a weaker conference. That alone kills your argument right there. The fact that you're playing in the Leastern Conference and that we play in the West and manage to have a better record while losing our second best player says a lot in it's own...mainly that we are a better team. Next, you've lost to us twice, and this time without Odom and Kwame. How can you really call yourselves the better team? Doesn't make sense. Now you blame the refs. Here's a thought for you. I'm not sure if you realized this, but you guys shot MORE FTS than we did. Why is it our fault that you couldn't capitalize when given the chance? And moreso, why is it the refs fault that you couldn't capitalize when you had the shot? You guys simply could not close it out. Plain and simple. As for the refs being onesided, I don't see how. You guys had 29 fouls, we had 27. Seems pretty close to me. Maybe if it was 40 to 27 and we shot 20 more FTs, you might have an argument. As it is, you shot more FTs and simply couldn't capitalize. It's not our fault, and it's not the refs fault, in fact, it's all yours.

The play where Turiaf got in wrestled battle with Dwight while going out of bounce, it's a foul but the ref missed it just like Dwight who was the last one touching the ball out of bounce in that Vlad/Dwight rebound sequence. So to say the least, it's equal. Then the play that you mentioned Kobe got an And 1, it's actually a miss and he shot 2 free-throw (I thought he made it too but he didn't, you need to recheck on that play). About Grant Hill, he got some nice calls but in the 4th quarter, down the sketch, he didn't got the ball a lot because Kobe was playing denial. And when he got it, he wasn't aggressive. Also the point you mentioned about Kobe's missing shot turned into a foul at the end, where did you get that idea? Did he missed any shot down the sketch? He was shooting jump shot and it went in. The only ticky tac foul was when Kobe dribbled around 3-point line with 22 seconds on the clock, and Dwight came over, harassed him and the ref called a foul. But that foul is actually correct, it's a hand check foul. And if you watch that play, Dwight was on Kobe's hip when Kobe dribbled over Dwight. State the fact. If there is anybody to blame, then blame Smush, he's killing you guys lol.

That's funny.</div> Yeah well it's not funny. Just kidding. But yeah, Chuck and Gators pretty much covered it. Kobe is going to get his calls and I expect that but I just hate when the officials don't let the players determine the outcome of the game. And it's not like they were just calling everything for Kobe, they were also missing obvious calls for Magic late in the game (such as Dwight's alleyoop attempt that should have been an and one rather than offensive foul or Grant Hill getting completely raped in the paint towards the end of the game but no call). It was just disgusting to watch and extremely frustrating. I felt like I was watching Duke for awhile. I do agree we are the better team though and it's a shame that the officials had to call such a one sided second half to ruin our shot at winning. Once the Lakers get Kwame and Odom back, they might be better but as for who is better right now, I gotta go with the Magic. Nobody on the Lakers could stop Dwight last night and if he had made his free throws, we would have won. The fact that we were that close despite the horrible calls coming our way shows how good of a team we are. Kobe got most of his points from the line and I'm not disappointed at all with the way we performed.
