    ^^^yes, Public Enemy is still droppin albums and Chuck is as potent as ever.

    <div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">How? The only strong point Game has is his delivery. Where is his wordplay, concepts? All he does is name drop and he is not better than Jay any day of the week. Wayne's random punchlines in songs>Game's pointless name dropping in songs.
    </div>

    Jay is very medioce right now....Game name drops, but I'll pump his new material over Jays.

    I hate posting in these threads because everyone is into the lyric oriented rap, which isn't a bad thing because I dig that stuff when I want to. But i'm usually listening to mainstream garbage and I dig it.

    But here's the the top rappers I like listening to at this moment in no order:

    T.I., Lil Wayne, Rick Ross, The Game, Young Jeezy, Pac, Pitbull, Yung Joc (It's Goin Down still gets me pumped... the lead up and then... N****S IN MY FACE DAMN NEAR ERRY DAYYY)

    Right now? Tough for me to answer since I dont really listen to alot of newer Rap / Hip-Hop, but I guess I'd have to go with Common or Mos Def, although from what I have heard from him, Lupe Fiasco doesnt sound too bad, so for a definitive "right now" answer, it would probally be him.

    Holy crap Chutney you got me with the sig. LMAO. I just typed it wrong once and didn't notice... Good one. I changed my sig though.

    As for my favorite rapper, I don't know really, I'm not into any at the moment. I really dislike the mainstream scene as of now.

    ^ lol, nice change. It's got a real religious vibe with its' humility.

    <div class="quote_poster">Quoting Brian:</div><div class="quote_post">Mos Def? I thought Mos Def retired for movies </div>
    Nah dude, he released "Tru3 Magic" near the end of December. Apparently, his label is recalling it though, and re-releasing it around Spring with more songs and stuff. The wikipedia article says that they might've pushed it early because they wanted the extra publicity that he got with a Grammy nomination.

    On a side note, I have a lot of respect for the dude as an actor and rapper. He experiments with his music, doesn't stay stagnant, and his lyrics are socially conscious. As an actor, he's pretty talented and isn't afraid to challenge himself with independant movies or roles that don't seem to fit his personality.

    Well it really does depend on the person. Not everyone listens to music for inspiration, political thoughts and knowledge. Some people do listen to music to just relax and chill out.

    I can listen to both types of music but the extreme kind such as Dem Franchise Boyz just annoy me. I prefer to listen to music that is a crossover between street and commercial.
