I think it's more to do with playing time being in Detroit. Ronny Turiaf is averaging 12 minutes per game. With Bynum, Radman, Odom, Turiaf, Cook and Kwame fighting for minutes, it would have been hard for Webber to get minutes. He would need to perform the minute he stepped on the floor otherwise his place would have been taken by someone else. Just take Brian Cook as an example.
We have to get rid of some PF's and/or C's. And somehow get a good and acceptable bigman to our triangle beside Lamar and Kobe.

<div class="quote_poster">bruin007 Wrote</div><div class="quote_post">When all is said and done Webber will be in Purple and Gold</div> Webber isn't coming here. He's going to Detriot. We have a .005% chance of landing him, only because it can't be official until Tuesday. As much as I would have liked to have him, he's probably just going to get injured again. Oh well. Best of luck to him I guess
<div class="quote_poster">Flow Wrote</div><div class="quote_post">Okay, he is officially gone now, isn't he !!!?</div> He's not officially gone. Again, nothing can be official until he signs on the dotted line, which won't be until Tuesday. But either way, we're not going to get him
<div class="quote_poster">Flow Wrote</div><div class="quote_post">Okay, my bad, again. So this thread is going to be locked ?</div> No it's going to be kept open for when Webber fails in Detroit and we can all reflect back and say "Oh, man thank god we didn't sign him!"
Very disappointed that Webber signed with the Pistons. I was so hype up yesterday that I didn't sleep and trying to find any credible news that related Webber with the Lakers. After reading some, and the part where Phils claimed both he and Webber had a good conversation, it seemed like Webber would in purple and gold. Not until this morning, I heard a friend of mine saying Webber would sign with Detroit. At first, I didn't believe in him but now there is no other choice. Damn, Webber can still contribute and will have a big impact on the Lakers than most of us intially thought. Just from his rebounding and passing ability are already good enough. And it costs only 1.2 mils to acquire him, extremely cheap for a guy of his talent despite he's not the same superstar C-Webb. Like Mr. Shapecity said, Webber can't be any worser than the two "human statues" Aaron Mckie and Shammond Williams lol.
egg on my face damn I was sure he would choose L.A. over Detroit but I had no idea his family is from there I know he played college ball there but not lived there. Too bad he's not going to win a championship.
