And yet, after watching Team USA in the world championships last August, the Nets point guard had a change of heart. He told his agent to call USA Basketball president Jerry Colangelo and tell him that he wanted back in an American uniform.

And for the first time Monday, he made public his desire to play in the FIBA Americas championship tournament in Las Vegas this August and the Olympic Games in 2008.</div>

Interesting. He still has some game in him. I say let him tryout with the rest.

I just hope they don't cut any young pointguards like Hinrich or Chris Paul, because the they could be there for 10+ years. He would definitely be a good addition though, he could play significant minutes and also teach the younger players a thing or two.

    Kidd Appears Bound for Beijing

<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">Jason Kidd admitted Monday that he wants to play for Team USA not just this year in Las Vegas, but next year in Beijing...at the Olympics. And it appears he will get his wish. The Nets captain, who is playing his best basketball in years, is expected to get an invitation from USA Basketball in the next few days. Carlos Boozer of the Jazz is expected to be invited as well. Nenad Krstic and Mile Ilic have committed to play for Serbia while Boki Nachbar remains uncertain about playing for Slovenia.
