<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">I was listening to 1320 on my way into work this morning. They were talking to some guy who claimed to know AK personally. He claimed that the reason AK is struggling right now is an addiction to video games. The "caller" claims that AK will stay up for hours and hours upon end playing video games, specifically warcraft. He will sometimes play for so long he forgets to eat and sleep. He is supposedly "obsessed". The guys on 1320 then referenced something on AK's personal website where he admitts to being big into video games and that he allows himself to be completely absorbed by them, to the point that he wont eat or sleep. He even has to set himself an alarm so that he remembers to quit playing. So, here's my question. COuld this be true, could AK's problem be that he is addicting to playing video games?? COuld that be causing that much of a problem with him game? He is he so drained physically and mentally from playing Warcraft that it is affecting his game???</div> I found this on another Utah forum, could it be true that AK's game is suffering due to not getting sleep or eating at all. I know when I play video games, I do the same thing and I could go hours being hungry and not care. What you guys think?
have u seen his girlfriend? I dont think there would be any time for video games if i had that girl...they say gilbert arenas plays hours of halo on his spare time
I remember watching an interview with AK47, and he said he has an addictive trait. He gets hooked on something and wants to compete until he's the best. He was addicted to online poker at one point, I guess his new fix is Warcraft or as some players refer to it Warcrack. I'm sure it has some effect on his performance, but you have to realize NBA players have A LOT of free time on their hands.

Plenty of NBA players play video games. I remember in the locker room after one of the Magic games I covered, Dwight wouldn't stop talking about playing XBOX 360 on the team plane with one of the trainers. He was making sure they had extra controllers and stuff. It seems to be a pretty popular thing among the players and I guess there is worse things to be addicted too cough, Eddie Griffin, cough.
Yeah but imagine during the game AK thinking about how to get his Peons to collect gold faster instead of stopping someone from dropping 50 on us. I just don't understand why his performance has fallen off so much, he's become worthless almost now.

Yea, there's a difference between video games like Halo or Madden that people will play with others and Warcraft that gets you holed up by yourself for the majority of the time. I really wouldn't know if this is messing him up, it could be any number of things, but it's always a possibility.
If this is his problem, what's wrong with him? Why not try to be the best SF instead of getting to be the best Warcraft player?
It's a possibility that playing too many video games has caused Kirilenko to play below his potential, but for that to happen he'd have to be playing very extensively. Kirilenko does have a family after all, which should make up a lot of his free time. Either that or his woman allowance .
