Murphy should benefit the most from this deal, because the talent at PF in the East, isn't anything close to the teams out West. He'll also benefit playing alongside Jermaine O'neal.
Given that Don Nelson is coaching the Warriors, the Warriors will get better by this trade. Neither Dun, Murphy or Ike fitted into his system. Ok, Ike is a very promising player, but he won't probably become a star in a team coached by Nelson. I like Harrington on PF for the Warriors. And it wouldn't surprise me if Jaskivicius really starts producing from now on.
I like Harrington. He's better than both Murphy and Dunleavy. Stephen Jackson sucks...that's all I can say. Sarunas cabbage face expires. Powell played in Dallas right? I think he'll get some run with us. I like the trade, there was one particular person last summer who endlessly defended Mike Dunleavy and shat on Harrington...what do you know...we traded our entire frontcourt for Harrington. Dunleavy had some skills but I have to laugh my ass off at that guy saying Mike Dunleavy is a better fit than Al Harrington. Oh, I'm sure unlike Dunleavy, Harrington will start. LMAO.
Feb 5th is going to be an interesting game.... Dub's in Indy ..... look forward to that match up... I can't see J-rich coming off the bench, not behind Ellis.... at least not when he is healthy....
http://www.nba.com/media/act_al_harrington.jpg"> I But, in the end, the Warriors get Harrington, who at least averaged 18.6pts and 7rebs one year. I guess that's decent. All this talk about a "sudden playoff team", though, heh, I'm not so sure. Isn't Jackson ready to stand trial for that shooting at the club? Hopefully his sentance nulifies his contract and the Warriors can just cut him. If that happens, this deal suddenly becomes MUCH better.
Whoever has that sig with Foyle, Fisher, Dun and Murphy on there saying 1 down 3 to go, can all but erase all of those. This makes Foyle's contract look much more reasonable as he is the only truly over paid player on this team, but I have NO PROBLEM with him playing 20 mins/game as a very high energy rebounding and defense guy.
Does anyone know if it is still possible to trade any of those guys this season? I think we would only have to wait 30 days but I could be wrong. It seems to me like we are now better equiped to make a run at a player like KG.

Otherwise you have to wait 60 days to make a multi-player deal.
Yeah, Harrington and Sjax both have a higher trade value than Dunleavy and Murphy combined. I keep hearing on RealGM that Harrington prefers to play the 3 and is a better 3 than 4, if that is the case, could we get away with playing SJax at the 4 like we have been playing Dunleavy, Barnes or Pietrus? He is about their size or possibly bigger? I know he can post up other players. Baron Jrich Harrington Jackson Biedrens I think I really like that lineup...
How do you guys think this will effect Troy Murphy? I think he can be productive along side Jermaine. Should get some nice looks off Jermaine's double teams, and will help spread the floor for Jermaine to operate.
Sarunas could be amazing in a Don Nelson system, the wide open style of play is much more suited for his game. From a Warriors POV now, do you look to unload Petrius before the end of the year? What do you want back in return?
I wish we could have gotten Granger. Ike and Murphy should do well in the East. Baron likes Harrington so he should be happy to have him on the team. Both Jackson and Harrington make free throws which is good. I wonder what this means for tonight's game. Hopefully they can make it to LA today. The Warriors would have like 7 players if they don't, or just barely 8 maybe if they brought up two players from the D-League (we might as well contact Penny). When the team is healthy I am pretty sure Jason will be starting. I am disputing whether I would rather have Ike in a couple of years or Harrington. I suppose Murphy and Dunleavy for Harrington and Jackson isn't bad. I guess we will see what happens next.
Very soon we will see that Harrington-Jackson LOVE 3's and think defense is a disease caught from toilet seats. Warriors probably are shopping Jackson already. J Powell has mostly been a DNP. I think he's made 2 shots all this season. Ike and JO will be awesome with Murphy rotating in a lot. This gives Indy a real power inside game. Us? We are stuck now with Foyle the lone C backup...and no REAL PF. We will score more. AH will play,Ike was being wasted and Murphy improved-but the injury slowed him-so it didn't show much. Typically- the Warriors traded their rebounding for a perimeter shooter. The shock is we grabbed 2 guys who were seen as negatives on D. We will save SOME $ if we let Powell,Jaskivius walk when they expire-and I expect Jackson is gone ASAP.
Man this is awesome. Despite SJax Artest like insaneness, the dude is pretty good. Though I wish we kept Ike and gave up Cheesecake instead.

We always said he would be a good fit somewhere like Miami because they will be in the east instead of the west with it's glutton of All Star caliber forwards. Having a player down low in JO, he can float out to the perimeter and he is a decent 3 pt shooter. He can rebound. It all comes down to if he is healthy and if he gets his confidence back in his jumper that he had a few years ago. He can be deadly from the top of the key. If Ike ever becomes "Elton Brand" it will be there for some of the same reasons. Ike will not have much competition in the east as he does here in the west and surely he should find some more PT. All the Warriors fans here complaining about losing Ike, there is a chance we could get him back when he becomes a FA like Indy got Harrington back a few years later. Its a stretch though. Either way, he becomes Corliss Williamson and we are happy to lose him, or he becomes Brand and we make a run at him in the summer...
That Dunleavy is gone forever gives me a warm feeling-but I'm an Ike fan so I'm gonna have to pull for the Pacers now.

However it would be tough to lose him for nothing this offseason. Considering that relying on him to be healthy for making the playoffs is always a risk, as he is currently out with an ankle injury, maybe the reason for keeping him after the trade deadline becomes mute. Right now Pietrus is probably available for other teams if they offer the right price. I am not sure what this price would entitle though. Possibly a PF or a big; or maybe it is a perimeter player similar to Pietrus especially in defense or a perimeter player like Maggette who is athletic and can score a bunch especially from the FT line which might be most attractive to the Warriors.
We are now SOLID at the 1, 2, 3/4, 5. The question is where to play Harrington and how well Jackson can fit in on this team. If he is willing to come in with his head on straight, play HARD NOSED defense off the bench and score in bunches along with Ellis and Barnes he could be what we need. It should be really interesting to see how Pietrus/Jackson fit on this team. If Jackson comes in here and plays his role, Pietrus is dispensable. I would like to do a sign and trade, or sign him to a very reasonable contract, say MLE and keep him on the bench or start him over Jackson...
