I think my options were usually in the following order...and remember this was whether snow or sun. 1. Foot hockey (big craze in our school for it) 2. Soccer (I loved playing sports) 3. Basketball - We used to shoot against a VENTILATION thing because our school couldn't afford a net. 4. Red Ass (throwing the ball against a wall, catching it, whipping it at someone lol) 5. 4 Square In the winter, me and my "crew" from back in the day used to play this game where everyone would get on a mountain of snow, and since our school's mountain stretched a REALLY long way (common, it's Canada), from one side of the school to another, we'd have a race to see who can get to the other side of the mountain the fastest. Of course, we were allowed to push and throw people off the mountain as well Oh mannn, fun times.
We dont call #4 red ass, in NY we call it Suicide. We play with handballs and it was painful. I remember one time I pegged my friend right in the head and he got pissed. We almost fought over it. I mostly just played basketball in recess.
LOL, I was just playing red ass at lunch yesterday. Had a tennis ball and nothing to do, and one of us suggested red ass. When I was in elementary school, we'd normally walk to McDonald's for lunch. Our school was also right behind a valley, so we'd take ten minutes to trek down and sit around there for 5 minutes, then climb back up. Good times. And oh, my cheap ass school had to outdoor basketball court.

Then I finally realized our suicide is their "red ass". In my younger days in Elementary, I played dodge ball, but as I got older I started playing basketball.
-I hit on girls a lot as a kid. -played basketball and football -lot of footracing -manhunt or tag -steal other kids pokemon cards
By age: 1. Red ass 2. Foot Hockey (we had a tournament at our school and we made a fake Stanley Cup at the end). 3. Basketball (we had no nets, so we shot against this metal sign that had the School's Code of Conduct on it). 4. Soccer 5. Basketball (with actualy nets). 6. Chilling
At recess, they just gave out like 2 types of balls, a football and a basketball. We didn't have a basketball goal, so we used to play soccer with the basketball and sometimes we played football.
Whats Foot Hockey? Played mostly 4 corners/squares, basketball, all the variations of tag, kickball, red butt, and football in elementary school.

We never had anything like that but sometimes, since there was rivalries between Grade 4, 5 and 6, we'd have inter-grade faceoffs to see who ruled the school. Of course Grade 6 won everytime (sometimes by being more agressive and cheating). During the winter times, we'd pretend we were actually playing hockey by "putting the gloves down" and pretending to fight. We'd also actually check each other as well. Actually, that just reminds me of another thing we used to do as a kid. During the really REALLY snowy times, we'd just go to the soccer feild and we'd start fighting each other; tackling each other in the snow, tripping each other, etc lol. <div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post"> 6. I've never played sports during lunches in high school since like the first month of grade 9 when I'd play basketball in the gym at lunch. <div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post"> Whats Foot Hockey? </div> It's basically what the name implies. Usually, the school would have a bunch of differnt "courts" and the courts would have one or two painted "nets" on them. If it was two nets, they'd be on opposite sides like soccer goals. You could also make posts out of hats or bagpacks or whatever you wanted if you couldn't find a court. To sum it up, it's basically soccer with a tennis ball on a much smaller court. The goalies are allowed to use thier jackets to save the ball, as well as hats. When I used to play goalie, I'd ALWAYS use a hat to "rob" the shots or whatever. However, I'd also get my pants completely ripped apart at the knees from sliding everywhere. <div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post"> -I hit on girls a lot as a kid </div> I remember getting chased by girls sometimes when we used to play tag, but I was an extremely shy kid when it came to girls then. I remember this one girl used to always chase me cause she liked me, but then she'd catch me and I'd feel like I was really slow cause a girl caught me lol.

I used to love rivalries from elementary school. For example, my grade had two "gangs" ( ) of guy groups. I was in one and it was led by a certain guy, and there was another group and it was led by some other guy. We actually didn't like each other and would fight over foot hockey turfs, soccer turfs, etc. In fact, the two groups even had thier own sets of girls. The girls who hung out with our group wouldn't talk to thier group or thier group's girls and vice versa. Looking back, that is hilarious.
I remember we used to have rivalries based on our homerooms. It was funny, because one year you'd hate a guy and the next year he'd be like your best friend. One incident that I especially remember was in Grade 4, when we used to play soccer. One day everyone split up into teams based on race, because apparently one dude said a slur or something. Everybody was so pissed, but I spent the majority of recess trying to find out what team I was on, because both had people from my homeroom. LoL, I was so naive back then.
LMFAO at "red ass", we call it Butts Up around here. I wasn't a huge basketball fan until about 6th or 7th grade, before that I played football every recess, every day. We also played four square (with crazy rules), and classic tag/smear the queer/manhunt.
Yup, it's called Butts Up here too. I usually played kickball, keep away, dodge ball, butts up, or tag. I remember me and my friend Cody used to think we were so cool and we would sometimes just flirt with all the girls. God I was dumb.
