How many of you expected the Lakers to be 26-13 and play this well against some of the NBA's elite this early in the season??? Im just curious to what everyone expectations were. BE HONEST!!!

I had a chance to see Bynum play in the Summer League and I knew immediately that we weren't as shallow up front as people thought. I thought the MoEvans signing was clutch and would help our team immensely. I also sort of half expected Kobe to share the ball more after last year's game 7. So yeah, I was pretty confident. What I didn't expect was how fast this team rebounded after our lost season with Rudy T. Taking the Suns to a game 7? Didn't see that coming at all.
Oh, let me go on record and say that I believe the 2006-2007 Lakers, barring any major injuries, will AT LEAST make it to the WC Finals. I wouldn't be too surprised if we won it all.
If I had knowed at the begginning of the season that Odom and some other guys will get injured. I problably would thought that they will have a 500 winning percent.
As soon as I saw the Lakers in pre-season. I notice they had a lot of depth in their bench and also that guys like Sasha, Luke, Cook, Turiaf, Evans, and Bynum had improved drastically. I wasn't sure about our 26-13 record but I was sure if those guy became consistent as they been i.e. Luke, Turiaf, and Cook the Lakers will definitely have a chance and make it to the WCF. Now, if Odom and Kwame come back and the team stays injury free and Vladman starts becoming a little bit more consistent we definitely should be consider an elite team. We could have had a better record if we didn't loose the games against Bobcats, Bucks, and Memphis. We could have been 29-10. Darn it.
I will honestly say I didn't expect to be playing this well. I thought we had a good team with a shot at 50 wins, but I didn't think we'd be playing THIS well. So far this season, we've beaten each of the top four seeds out West at least once, and I don't think any other team in the NBA can say that.
I can honestly say I did for awhile after the post season, I have numerous posts stating 55 wins is very reachable, but that kind of died off before the season started.
I honestly think whit the offseason signings of vlad, mo evans and the pick in the draft of jordan farmar that we can be a deeper team in that moment, i think was good but right now are workout better than i imagine.
As Mamba said, I also have numerous posts stating we would win between 50-55 wins. However, I didn't think there was going to be this many injuries. I'm not really suprised but glad that we can still perform without key players. I always knew we had depth. On any given night, Cook, Smush, Radman, Evans, Bynum, Turiaf and Walton can light up and give us 20-30 odd points along with Kobe and Lamars' performances. I would say that the combination of certain players provides us with that third star that we need. On a side not, it's so frustrating that our record stands at 5th in the West but if we were in the East we would have the best record. This still doesn't account for the fact that we would play easier teams in the East.

I expected this team to win 50-52 games, the Lakers are on pace to win 55 games.
I thought they were gonna be ****. Not gonna lie. I love these guys, my friends say I'm crazy how closely I monitor games but yeah...Shape might remember I wasn't too optimistic coming into the season.
