The Caron Butler game-winning dunk was just a small defensive breakdown, but the Knicks did a great job keeping the ball out of Arenas's hands and limiting him to 16 points. Gilbert Arenas can drop 40 without breaking a sweat, so Orlando will need to do all they can to get him out of an offensive rhythm.[*]Control The Boards – The Wizards are not a great rebounding team, but they did bring it Wednesday night against the best rebounding team in the league. Orlando must make sure, they can find second chance points off rebounds and keep the Wizards to a shot per possession at the same time, and it will hurt the Wizards' offensive rhythm.[*]Limit Turnovers – Orlando are last in the NBA in turning the ball over at a disgusting rate of 17 a game, while the Wizards are 4th in the league in steals. The Wizards love to turn up the tempo, by getting easy fastbreak points off turnovers, so Orlando need to move the ball smoothly and keep the tempo down.[*]Target and Eliminate Shooters – It's not going to be a surprise to know who will shoot lights out after the first two meetings, that it's Hedo Turkoglu with contributions off the bench from Keyon Dooling. After the Wizards' let Quentin Richardson alone shoot 7-12 from downtown and won't having an easy night if they let Hedo shoot lights out again. Production From Role Players – You have to expect Orlando to double team Arenas at most times espicially during the last two minutes, so the Wizards will definitely need good shooting performances from Antawn Jamison, Deshawn Stevenson and Jarvis Hayes, while getting strong defensive presences from Andray Blatche and Etan Thomas. That's of course if they leave Arenas with the ball one on one. [*]Contain Dwight Howard – Washington cannot afford to have a red hot Dwight have a 20 and 20 type game on Friday, and the Wizards big men have done a good job doing that the first two meetings. With Etan Thomas back on the active roster, and recent rise of Andray Blatche, they should have Dwight Howard guessing on offense and do a good job keeping him off the boards.[/list]
if we shout down arenas..that means butler and jamison will do all the damage other wise saying we have a tough task ahead of us

Quote:

Date: December 17thth, 2006 Time: 9:30 P.M. Eastern
Copy and paste much? Arenas has been unstoppable as of late. I doubt we'll win, but here's too it.
If Orlando can get their shot going, then it's just going to be a point-for-point game and just hopefully the Wizards will take it again on the final poessesion.
We play them close every game, I wouldnt be surprised if its a 5 pt game at the end... If we can shoot a better fg % today we have a good chance. We have to get howard and jameer going. Gilbert is gonna get his 35+ pts we all know that, its limiting the others. I think we can pull it out, but only if we play team ball, and not arroyo trying to get his own shot going....
This is Friday's game of the night. Two Southeast teams squaring off in a battle for the division lead. Gilbert Arenas has been playing some excellent basketball these past couple of weeks so the Magic obviously need to slow him down. He's coming off a mediocre performance against the Knicks (he only scored 16 points) so expect him to come out tonight and try to bounce back. Caron Butler is the X-Factor in this game for the Wizards. He's quietly having a breakout year and Hedo needs to play some good defense tonight. Dwight should be able to have his way against the Wizards front court so let's hope Brian Hill actually gives him the damn ball. The Magic have dropped three straight games and we're so inconsistent now so I can't see us winning tonight. I'm predicting a Wizards win 98-95. Let's hope Orlando proves me wrong. Thanks for posting the preview.
Dwight struggled against Etan Thomas in the first meeting. Expect to see a lot of Etan Thomas and his physical play tonight.
Let's try to keep this thread really active tonight during the game. A lot of the other team forums have people posting in the thread as they are watching the game and the threads usually end up having multiple pages. Let's try to do that tonight since it is a big game and we need this if we want to lead our division.
if any of u are going to this game...first 5,000 fans get a sweet d12 figurine..its also gospel night..hmmm this could be howards night to shine

Lol. Everything looks good so far, but hopefully Wizards can keep Orlando out the paint.
the "heard behind the bench report" on sunshine network showed jamison is in the top 3 for scoring average all time as an opposition in amway arena jamison use to write jamsession on his shoe when he was with gs state..he still may idk

Arenas is 0-4 so far so that's good. Hopefully we can continue to contain him. The announcers were just saying that Dwight was looking over to the sideline asking Brian Hill for the ball on offense. Good to see him speaking up and trying to get involved. The next possession we gave it to him and he is about to shoot two free throws. Hopefully we can keep getting him the ball.
