    <div class="quote_poster">REREM Wrote</div><div class="quote_post">Jackson is the guy to go.....a volume chucker,not especially good D,not a guy who really listens to coaches...not worth the $.

Nazr is a mediocre big with a contract that's too big and too long. It ain't like some red hot talent is pushing him out of Detroit...or squeezed him out in SA.

Best....trade Jax to the Bobs for Ely. They get a scorer cheap (trade-wise) We get a usable big guy..save $ too. Strip clubs in the Carolinas install metal detectors-thus creating new jobs. It's Win-Win,baby!</div>

Ha ha, I agree with this, REREM. [IMG] Especially the trade idea.

I hope mullin makes another blackbuster trade and gets pietrus with foyle out for some decent PF/C.
If you ignore the Nazr salary, then it's not a bad move Pietrus/Zarko for Nazr, and warriors have solved problems C position.
Well knowing Mullin I bet he will make some trade that nobody was even thinking about.</div>

If there's an offensive rebounding F/C that can catch, block shots, run the floor, get putbacks, do a decent job boxing out for defensive rebounders or get the defensive rebound himself, that'd be great.

Is there anybody else from the Baltic region that closely resembles Biedrins? [IMG]

Well POB might as well be as good as Nazr soon...

After Biedrins and Martynas Andriuskevicius left for NBA, have not seen any promesing prospects here. Lithuanians have some solid youth that plays at Eurolegue level, but no true NBA potencial. I think Biedrins just had deam good work ethics. When I saw him play here at age of 15 never would of belived that he will become this good. We have united basketball league now, you can see rosters and stuff here www.bbl.net.

Warriors seek services of Pistons' Mohammed (part 2)

<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">OAKLAND - The Warriors are discussing a trade with the Detroit Pistons involving center Nazr Mohammed, a person familiar with the talks confirmed on condition of anonymity.
Mohammed reportedly has been on the market for some time as the Pistons are looking for perimeter help, especially a backup point guard. Mohammed is expected to be removed from the regular rotation now that the Pistons have signed Chris Webber.
The source said Detroit has inquired about Warriors combo guard Monta Ellis, recently acquired point guard Sarunas Jasikevicius, swingman Mickael Pietrus and forward Matt Barnes.
According to the Detroit News, the Pistons also have offered Mohammed for Minnesota's Marko Jaric, Toronto's Mo Peterson and Houston's Bonzi Wells.
The Warriors need inside help now that forwards Troy Murphy and Ike Diogu play for Indiana. Adonal Foyle is the only true big man remaining behind starting center Andris Biedrins.
However, the Warriors might not be willing to absorb Mohammed's contract, which has four years and $25 million remaining after this season, or part with one of their perimeter players just yet. Warriors executive vice president of basketball operations Chris Mullin said Wednesday he wants to use the month or so remaining before the Feb. 22 trade deadline to evaluate his new roster.

They inquired about Monta Ellis? Are you friggin kidding me? For Nazr!?!?

I really hope we don't get Nazr... We have Foyle already, and Beans will get the most minutes anyway.

His numbers are decent this year -- 7 pts, 5.4 reb, 1 blk, 56% FG playing 19 minutes a night. If he was a starter on a team and played 38 minutes a night, that'd be 14 pts, 10.8 reb, and 2 blk.

If Foyle played 38 minutes, his numbers would be 10 pts, 8.8 reb, 3.2 blk on 68% FG.

So yeah, they're basically the same statistic wise. The only difference is Nazr has done more in his career. He averaged 10.9pts 8.1reb with the Knicks, and 9.5pts 7.6reb with the Spurs in 04-05.

    Here's his line:

But Foyle, man, that guy has played 10 seasons, and he's never done jack with his career. Look at this:

Year Team G GS MPG FG% 3p% FT% OFF DEF RPG APG SPG BPG TO PF PPG

He averaged 5.9pts and 7reb with 2.7 blk in 00-01. That was a decent year, especially with blocks. That's when he played the most minutes of his career at 25 minutes. Other than that, though, Foyle has failed to ever emerge as a starting center in the NBA. That contract now just looks like ****.

Maybe we can find a way to give them Foyle for Nazr along with whatever it takes to equalize...?

Hmm.. nah, it doesn't look like they have anything else we want. Maybe Mullin's thinking something like:

    Foyle + Sarunas for Nazr + Delfino/Maxiell

This just doesn't make any sense. There's really nothing they have that GS would want, and on the flip side we have a lot they would want but GS shouldn't give up. I guess the only think I'd do is:

    Foyle + Zarko for Nazr

no....it would not. Foyle is playing well....and is a 3 year contract. I heard a TON of bitch and moan that Murphy was 5 yrs and slow....so..Nazr is 5 yrs and slow-but gets far less boards....

Spurs dumped him for Elson. Pistons took him in desperation...now figure they ain't desperate enough.

No Barnes...Pietrus...they have been STARTING players, have had 20 pt games...have value. Nazr would join Jax as another guy hard to trade when he does not fit.

Who can we get that is a consistent all-around rebounder and defender that can score on putbacks? This will be a toughy.

Maybe we can swing something for Magloire? Magloire for Foyle anyone?

I'd rather have a hard working, educated, overpaid big man than a lazy overpaid big man that plays with no energy.

Well, we need something at PF. Harrington is a good player but he's more of a swing player or spark off the bench. He is not a pure PF and GS will get exploited defensively there.

If POB is going to be a back-up center, that means Foyle is expendable (if even tradable). I just think GS needs to keep wheeling-n-dealing and be bold. Making a bold move for a solid PF is my choice right now.

Thus, I say again: JRich + Pietrus for Gasol.

    Baron / Rooney
    Monta / Az
    Jackson / Harrington / Barnes
    Gasol / Harrington / Barnes / (Powell?)
    Biedrins / Foyle

    That's solid playoff stuff, IMO.

Magloire was an all-star once. But the most appealing thing is his expiring contract, ridding us of Foyle's.

I love AlleyOops's starting lineup, the bench looks a little thin there but not terrible. Definitely a playoff-caliber lineup. Again, though, I just don't know if JRich + Pietrus (neither of whom is an All-Star and who have both missed time with multiple injuries) is enough to get Gasol away from Memphis. I want nothing to do with Nazr Mohammed. We can do better.

It would be a half season rental and we get out from under Foyle's big deal like AF mentioned. Plus, he's a one-time allstar (east) playing with BDiddy.

Well, apparently the idea was the Bulls would offer Ben Gordon + Luol Deng. I'd think JRich + Pietrus would compete with that, especially since the Grizz might want to tank and rebuild, thus Pietrus' expiring contract is an asset in that regard.
