A few weeks ago, O'Neal announced that if he could not get the Pacers turned around, maybe it was time for him to go.

That seems very likely to happen this summer, although a handful of GM's and scouts say it could happen before next month's trade deadline. One source hinted that the Denver Nuggets' Marcus Camby or even the Sacramento Kings' Brad Miller could be parts of a package involving O'Neal.</div>

I don't believe this. Didn't they ask JO what he thought about the warriors trade b4 it happened just in case he didn't like it? Why would they do that? They won't get good value in return IMO

Major cleanup is happening in Indiana. The team that needs Jermaine most is probably the Bulls. It's be a good trade for the Pacers if they can get Ben Gordon and PJ Brown in return, though I'm not sure how JO feels about the headband rules in Chicago.

You guys need a new banner and a new slogan for your forum soon.

trade camby and someone else for JO. That would be insane. AI, Melo, and JO would just be too good.

Don't want him anyways, somebody sneezes and he's out 2-4 weeks with skin inflammation.

Jermaine O'neal is one of the highest paid players in the league (#7), Indy is going to be hard pressed to find someone willing to trade for him. His contract alone counts for 33% of your teams salary cap, so the only teams who could afford him and still have aspirations for a title run, is a team with a young talented player on a rookie contract.

The only other scenario is if Indy takes back some bad contracts, or another disgruntled overpaid superstar.

Are you implying that JO is disgruntled and overpaid?
They could be taking back some expiring contracts and a young stud or picks....
Ben Gordon, PJ Brown and the rights to the Knicks pick would be more then enough....but would the salaries match?

He's voiced displeasure about the team and his role in the past. JO has the occassional mood swings every now and then. He's vastly overpaid, he's making $18M this year and his salary maxes out at $22M.

The salaries don't match in the Ben Gordon trade scenario. I also doubt the Pacers would trade O'neal to a team in the same division.

Bringing in JO would kill cap flexibility and I don't want that. While the Bulls need a big man who can score, we don't need one that comes at JOs price tag. Beyond that, I'm far too fond of Ben Gordon to part ways with him. He's become the 20ppg scorer everyone said the Bulls needed and is still young and developing. He's just going to get better and better and is really too valuable to the Bulls to trade. Plus, he's openly expressed that he wants to stay with the Bulls, and I'd be damned if Skiles goes and trades him, especially considering he won't demand a horrible amount of money once he becomes a RFA.
