The Dream presents "The 3 most overrated MCs" I just wrote it.... <div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">http://blog.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuseacti...38-b4627fb8d2db</div>
Nobody in New York considers any of those guys good MCs so I don't see how they are overrated. but I agree with their wackness. What do you think of Clipse? I think those guys are strong.
from what I hear the east coast likes a lot of southern cats and I know Wayne gets a lot of love from everywhere.....I think the Clipse are dope, I just wish they'd expand their subj. matter a bit more, I've yet to hear their new album though....

Why can't some of these cats do a political album? They might lose the gangster crowd but they would gain the college crowd. Crossover works pretty well for guys like Andre 3000 and Cee-Lo - crazy record sales for those guys. But I forgive their limited subject matter for how hard they hit on the mic. Some guys just have IT and I think they definitely have it
<div class="quote_poster">Karma Wrote</div><div class="quote_post">*waits for Air Fresh to start on his Lil Wayne rant*</div> We've got a comedian everybody. *waits on Karma to say how he hasn't followed hip hop in two years blah blah blah* Wayne isn't overrated, for every person that likes Wayne theres a lot more people that hate on him, and this website is a perfect example. The only person who overrates him is himself. <div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">Why can't some of these cats do a political album</div> You can only rap what you know about, and I'm pretty sure the Clipse probably aren't up on their politics. From a lyrical standpoint, I think the Clipse are overrated. Because I keep hearing people talk about their lyrics like they are lyrical juggernauts or something, when I just don't see it myself. They don't have any creative concepts either, every song is the same message basically. But HHNF is OK. I just don't see what the hype is about.

Well, Lil Wayne nor the Clipse have the lyrical stance to back up their hype. They are both overrated, one moreso than the other in different perspectives.
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting THE DREAM (Blog):</div><div class="quote_post">One second he's talking about women and then the next he's saying something about the five basic food groups.</div> Also Young Jeezy > Lil' Wayne on my most hated list now, the other day "I'm so Icy! and you're not icy at all, your jewelry look like it came out da middle da mall" came to mind, and I think I just about threw up. It's amazing how some people manage to con Record Exec's into giving them a deal worth millions to make stuff I wouldnt even whipe my ass with.
You wouldnt wipe your ass with it but people in the hood feel it which is why Jeezy and Wayne go platinum. Also, its not like Wayne changed his flow overnight, it started changing gradually from mixtapes to his third album. The ghostwriter rumor was pretty much a publicity stunt from Gillie Da Kid as well. Don't you think BG and Juve would have said something about it sense they had beef once they left? Supposedly Wayne doesn't even use the writing method either. I'm not really disagreeing with what you said, because I take Wayne's music for what its worth, thats why he isn't overrated to me. When I listen to a Wayne album--I'm listening because I'm not in the mood for music with actual substance and a message behind it. I'm listening for a few catch lines/songs that I can play.

Do you realize that in essence you've put down the people in the hood with that statement. Very ignorant man. Sales don't attribute quality, have you never heard of that ideology? <div class="quote_poster">Quoting A.F. Am I the only one that thinks Jeezy is worse than Wayne? Jeezy is just awful, while at times you can listen to Wayne.
<div class="quote_poster">Mercury Wrote</div><div class="quote_post">Am I the only one that thinks Jeezy is worse than Wayne?</div> No, I said the same thing a few posts up. I'll give Wayne credit, in that every now and then he'll come up with a sub par punch line, but Jeezy just has nothing, its like hes a poet and he doesnt even know it type ish' with him.

How many hoods have you been to in the South? Because thats where the majority of Jeezy's fanbase comes from, and I've seen it first hand. I've been to the swamp meets with Jeezy gear EVERYWHERE. <div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">Yet you rock a Nas sig.</div> and? It's what you always do when someone mentions his name, so therefore I was just waiting for the inevitable. You get your balls all twisted trying to defend him. Oh, by the way, stop taking everything so seriously, as if people have a personal agenda against you, whether it be people who judge your battles or people who hate on one of your favourite rappers. You need to relax dude.
