It was a hard week, but these are some of the best we've ever had imo - <font color=""Red"">Hope these blurbs are cool - if so, this thing's ready for its close-up.</font> - I feel dirty knowing that we ranked Memphis #23, putting them ahead of Va Tech, Northern Iowa and Tennessee, who are all more deserving of being ranked than they are, IMO 1) Wisconsin – 99 (3) The Badgers have now spent three weeks in the top spot on JBB's poll, and they've won an impressive 15 consecutive games. A tough matchup with an improving Indiana team in Bloomington looms this week - after a gritty win at Assembly Hall, the Badgers will get their third solid test of the Big 10 season. 2) UCLA – 94 (1) The Bruins have kept rolling after their one loss of the season, and have been in the top three for more than two months now. Workmanlike wins over Arizona and ASU this week showed that the Bruins can play well without forward Luc Richard Mbah a Moute, who has been out with an injury. 3) Oregon – 93 The Ducks continue to impress JBB's pollsters far more than the national media. Aaron Brooks is throwing his name in the national player of the year hat, and the Ducks are winning games in a variety of ways. They've officially mastered the comeback; wins over ASU, Cal and Stanford this week were all come-from-behind affairs. 4) North Carolina - 87 The Tarheels aren't going anywhere soon. A dumptrucking of much-improved Georgia Tech on Saturday night further solidified the Heels as the class of the ACC. Tyler Hansbrough and Brandan Wright are the best pair of forwards in the country. 5) Florida - 86 Wait, Florida is #1 in the AP poll for two consecutive weeks, and they're only #5 on JBB? Yep. The Gators are rounding into form however, and Joakim Noah had the biggest day of his season in a gritty win against Ole Miss. The Gators seem always to be caught behind the 'style points' eight ball, but this team is certainly capable of winning it all again. 6) Texas A&M – 79 You want a statement win? How about spanking the Pokes from Stillwater by almost 20? The nation's most underrated inside-out duo, Joseph Jones and Acie Law, are averaging 15.5 ppg, 10.2 rpg and 19.4 ppg, 4.3 apg, respectively, over the Aggies' last four games. A&M travels to Lubbock on Wednesday for a Big 12 showdown. 7) Ohio State – 78 After getting the monkey off their back by beating Tennessee, the Buckeyes also got their best glimpse at Mr. Oden this week. The man-child posted 29 and 10 on 12 of 13 field goals against Iowa. As these Buckeyes continue to mature, they're just going to start blowing people out. 8) Kansas - 68 Don't start wringing your hands about another Kansas loss just yet; at least this one came on the road against a team fighting for an NCAA Tournament invite. However, it is unsettling to see the wild lack of consistency from these Jayhawks. We've said it before and we'll say it again - they can look like a Final Four team one day, and a doormat the next. 9) Butler – 67 The Bulldogs continue to be a Top 10 squad on JBB...just let that marinate in your cranium for a couple of minutes. Butler has continued its march through the Horizon League schedule, winning convincingly against Youngstown St and UW-Green Bay, two of the better teams in that league. AJ Graves is as good a lead guard as you'll find, and Mike Green has been a terrific sidekick. 10) Pittsburgh – 62 A home loss to Marquette has to be discouraging, and it's been a relatively down year in the Big East. Now back to reality - this was just the first conference loss for the Panthers, and their only losses have come to #1 Wisconsin, #18 Marquette, and in Triple OT to #12 Oklahoma State. It's safe to say they're still a darn good team. 11) Duke – 56 12) Oklahoma State – 54 13) Notre Dame – 48 14) Washington State – 42 15) Nevada – 41 16) Air Force – 38 17) Indiana – 34 18) Marquette - 32 19) Southern Cal – 29 20) Syracuse – 19 21) Clemson - 14 22) Arizona – 13 23) Memphis – 12 24) Maryland – 11 25) Northern Iowa - 9 Others Receiving Votes: Vanderbilt (8), Virginia Tech (8), Tennessee (6), Alabama (5), New Mexico State (3), Villanova (3), Virginia Commonwealth (2), Florida State (1)

Can anyone out there explain to me how Kentucky moved up by going 1-1 this week, including a home loss to an unranked Vandy team? If they went 1-1 but their win was over Florida, yeah, I can see them moving up. But their win was South Carolina...um, yeah. **** the AP
