Deng has a mid range, and he's a pretty powerful driver. On top of that, the Bulls are getting accustomed to their young line up, improving every year. We do not need to trade. Deng is a valuable to the Bulls now, we can't just go trading people all "willy nilly" and expect good results. Look when Francis went to Orlando, he was a good player, but he let the whole team down.
<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">First, the rumor: Luol Deng and Ben Gordon for Gasol. Forget it! Not a chance. Attempts to reach Bulls officials for comment Sunday were unsuccessful. But league sources familiar with the Grizzlies say there hasn't been a specific exchange of names with the Bulls or any trade proposal. But the Bulls, among other teams, have been notified that Gasol is available. As suggested here two months ago, Gasol would be an ideal fit for the Bulls, just as Kevin Garnett would be. Though different players--Garnett more the defender and worker and Gasol more offensive minded--both are good passers who could provide the power-forward size and scoring the Bulls need to complement Ben Wallace.</div> Read more...
"If we trade Pau we're looking to substantially improve the team for the future or we would be looking to get more picks in this draft," Heisley said. "If we can improve the team, we would trade Pau.'' Chicago has plenty of picks. 2007 pick, 2 2nd round 2007 picks. 1 2008 2nd round pick, 2 2009 second round picks and Paxson could trade our 2008 pick we wont need it.

Don't get me wrong I love Deng as much as the next Bulls fan, though I was pulling for Iggy to fall into the Bulls hands. Gasol is a fierce competitor, a lot of peopel labeled him soft a few years ago, but then he grew out that beard and tore it up like no other. You have to give something to get something back. Blur You're right, most people's reason they play the game is to win it all. Others it's stats, while my favorite motive is love of the game. I respect Reggie so much for his killer instincts in the clutch AND the way he stayed with the pacers for sooo long. If Artest didn't mess up that season, he may have gotten that right. But I do understand and agree that Griz management is pushing for a youth movt and Gasol does NOT wanna be in that losing situation. 23MJordan23: Francis was going to be paired with another PG, and a roster with another 6 point guards, that's why Francise's nickname has lost it's meaning. Gasol's situation is different, the Bulls NEED him.
Isn't Tyrus 6'9? Thats what he got at his pre draft camp thing... Also is Gasol for Brown, Sweetney and combination of draft picks and possibly Thomas possible?
The most likely inclusions are going to be expiring contracts like Sweetney's, plus a player the Grizzlies can keep with Duhon or Deng, depending really on that draft picks they give up. We don't want to drain our future drafts up to three years for one guy. You have to think of this from multiple points and consequences.
