Jerry West has reportedly discussed a trade with three teams, one of them being Chicago.

Talks have centered around Ben Gordon and Luol Deng.

"Giving up Gordon and Deng would be very difficult," a Bulls insider insisted. "John will never go there. Not even if Scott Skiles and the rest of the coaching staff is beating on him to make that swap, which isn't the case."</div>

I'm pretty sure Thorn will pursue him.

He is a good player and be a good fit on this team. I think we could get more players if we trade VC for Gasol and a filler.

Nets try to get all the good big man who are on the trade block or free agents, then some other teams make better deals.

As I've said many times before, bringing Gasol to the Nets would make the team a lot more dangerous in the playoffs. Gasol is one of the top 10 big men in the league and would be a force in the paint.

Even if it means trading Carter, Rod Thorn should bring Gasol to NJ if the oppurtunity rises. How about this scenario?

    Nets Trade:

    G Vince Carter
    F Clifford Robinson

    Grizzlies Trade:

    F Pau Gasol
    F Brian Cardinal

Memphis are obviously going to rebuild soon, so this trade is perfect for them. They get rid of a long term contract in Cardinal and trade want-away Gasol. In exchange, they get two expiring contracts: VC's expires this season and Cliff's expires next season. Cliff could also teach some of Memphis's young big men, like Swift and Warrick, the ropes and improve their games defensively. Basically, the Grizzlies save 20 million dollars by summer 2008 and get some veteran help in between.

The Nets bring in Gasol along with a dependable backup in Cardinal who can play both forward positions off the bench. They become instant contenders in the east. Eddie House or even Antoine Wright can fill in for Carter to make up for the scoring lost along with Gasol.

    PG: Jason Kidd
    SG: Eddie House/Antoine Wright
    SF: Richard Jefferson
    PF: Pau Gasol
    C: Mikki Moore, eventually Krstic

Key Backups: Cardinal, Collins, Wright/House, Nachbar, eventually Moore

    The trade works:

Due to New Jersey and Memphis being over the cap, the 25% trade rule is invoked. New Jersey and Memphis had to be no more than 125% plus $100,000 of the salary given out for the trade to be accepted, which did happen here. This trade satisfies the provisions of the Collective Bargaining Agreement.

    Trade ID: 3616655

All those big trades like AI to Denver, C-Webb to Detroit and now Gasol problably changing his club, they all bring exictness into the game.

The Lakers won't problably get Gasol neither, giving Odom away would we too risky. And like NTC or someone else said, that the Grizzlies will never give up Gasol for Mihm, Radman and some other guys.

Good luck for executing this trade.

(Did I make some letter mistakes in this post) ?

i dont know about a front court of krstic and gasol. Gasol is an outstanding post player, but that front court still seems soft. They need more toughness as a team. I think gasol would just take carters place as the teams best player, without much overall improvement from the team. The nets really just need to break apart the entire team and trade kidd as well. that way they can add more young players and maybe a draft pick or 2.

    It's decent, around mid-level (5-6 million), I believe.

In that scenario, Pau Gasol does not go to the Nets then, simple as that. You have to give up some to get some...
