<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">There are all kinds of explanations and excuses Jorge Garbajosa could trot out for the demise in his play of late. He has been sick with the flu and injured with a strained calf muscle and his body and mind have to be wearing down just a little bit after a summer spent winning a world basketball championship with Spain and the grind of an NBA season being felt for the first time. But Garbajosa isn't buying that. "Physically, I feel good; mentally, I feel great," the 29-year-old Raptor said yesterday. "I'm just trying to adapt to a new position a little bit further from the rim, just trying to be patient, trying to work every day for the whole season and give my best." His best, lately, hasn't been that great. He's had as many scoreless games (two) as games in which he has scored more than 10 points in Toronto's last 10 games and he hasn't been playing with the same energy as he did en route to winning the Eastern Conference rookie-of-the-month award in December. Coach Sam Mitchell has seen the decline in energy and production and says he's going to have to keep a sharper eye on the 6-foot-9 Spaniard. "He's got to be, if not physically, then mentally, fatigued," Mitchell said. "I've got to watch his minutes; if he's not going so good, I've got to get Joey (Graham) in there a little bit quicker. "It's hard. He has been a steadying influence on our team, so I don't like to just pull him but, again, I have to be cognizant he's been playing a lot of minutes and a lot of basketball."</div> Source
I would take him out of the Starting Lineup. I think Garbajosa plays his best ball when he is out on the floor with the Calderon. That being said who do you start instead? Mo-Pete gives us a sharpshooting threat of the bench, Graham has been real effective of late and you don't want to do anything to mess with his game, Bargnani is playing well but i think you want you rook to have to earn his minutes. Actually on second though maybe he still deserves to start i would just like to see his minutes reduced. It seems like it was around this time last year that calderon started breaking down and i dunno if it has anything to do with the euroleague vs. NBA schedule.
I think if u dunt want Garbo to start, put in Mo pete, or u could bring back tuckers, and out him at small, I know he might not deserve right now, but he is pretty good. and Slokar, what a bust, he hasnt done much.
