<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">The question is, what does Memphis want in return? There is no chance the Bulls would send two core players (Ben Gordon, Luol Deng, Kirk Hinrich and Andres Nocioni) or next year?s unprotected first-round pick to the Grizzlies. If Memphis would take Deng and P.J. Brown?s expiring contract for Gasol, the Bulls would have to consider it. It?s unlikely the Bulls would trade Gordon, knowing they wouldn?t get very far without his clutch shooting. Another option is waiting until the summer and including Hinrich in a package for Gasol. Both teams should be under the salary cap, so it may be possible to deal Hinrich without being subject to base-year compensation rules, which make trades difficult.</div> Read more...
Geez I dunno. Hinrich is the leader and Duhon didn't exactly do much to give me confidence he could play well as a starter again.
"If we trade Pau we're looking to substantially improve the team for the future or we would be looking to get more picks in this draft," Heisley said. "If we can improve the team, we would trade Pau.'' P.J. Brown and Mike Sweetney (expirings), Chris Duhon (a starting point guard for some teams) our 2007 pick, 2 2nd round 2007 picks. 1 2008 2nd round pick, 2 2009 second round picks and Paxson could trade our 2008 pick we wont need it. He never mentioned he wanted a young star in return. the guys and picks will help them for their future. -They now have money to get free agents -They will have over 10+ picks for the next 3 drafts -They have a young point guard thats teams want from us and that they need.
I was thinking the same thing with Duhon, Sweetney, and P.J. along with picks. never got into thinking to in depth about the picks but we really don't need them. Also I checked RealGM and the trade scenario works out. It's really not that bad at all for Memphis, Duhon's a starter for sure and people in the league seem to have high hopes for Sweetney. P.J.'s a proven veteran. The Knicks pick is also very sexy and with a couple of our picks Memphis is looking at rebuilding a team. If they do go under new ownership I'm sure they'll love the idea of having money and the freedom to basically make a new team. With A.I. going for pretty cheap it's not that unrealistic that Memphis will do the same. As from a Bulls stand point getting rid of Duhon will give Thabo more time to develope and I personally think that this kid can put up some mean numbers in the future. If we keep the Knick's pick I wouldn't know what to do with it financially because we have to sign our young guys as it is.
