But the club's preference is to re-sign the 7-foot-1 Milicic this summer. Smith said the Magic will still listen to teams asking about Milicic only because Milicic will be a restricted free agent after the season. Orlando has the right to match offers for Milicic, and a team could make an offer out of the Magic's price range. The Magic are trying to establish Milicic's worth this season. They rejected -- at the last minute, according to Milicic -- a five-year $40-million deal last summer. "We like Darko and we want him here," Smith said.</div> Source

Seems like they are just testing the waters and seeing what they could get for him. My question is, if you are actively shopping him or trying to use him as trade bait, why not start him? That way you can see how he performs in the starting lineup alongside Dwight Howard and raise his value at the same time.
I like this..We can see what excalty darko's value is in the league. If we dont trade him we can use this information to see if we should sign him this coming off season, and hey you never know what teams are willing to give up.. we might get something surprising.
Darko's put together 4 near double doubles in his last 5 games in 20-25 minutes, so let's give him 30 alongside Dwight and see what he can do. Seriously is there anything that could make starting Darko over Battie a negative?
i think that darko is FINALLY getting into NBA game shape, and the reason it has taken him this long is because he didn't know what game shape is lol, because he was rotting on the bench for 2 1/2 years in DET...so I think he is finally coming into his own and this s the time when his trade value wil rise, and who knows, maybe he gets more PT, and eventually that starting job
