Is it just me, or has there been a huge increase of games that have gone to Over Time this season?

Today 4 games went to over time, one of them double OT. This is about the 3rd or 4th time this season more than 3+ games have gone to OT on the same day.

What do you think about this growing trend?

Pretty cool. It grows more intense and excitement when games go into overtime.

The Knicks have already had two 3OT games. You're right, for some reason it's been like that.

The Suns are pretty famous for their OT games. And they often lose in overtime. ;D

But I don't see anything bad about this. It brings more exictment into the game and man, last possesions of the game, close game, people on the edges of their seats...

I think it's great for the league and bad for the players. It's much more physically exhausting for players to continue this trend, and in the end, when you lose, it's not even worth to have to go to OT. However, it's great for the league. It keeps the intensity level up and keeps the fans glued to their seats (or TV), which is never a bad thing.

There aren't enough clutch players in the NBA these days who can win the game in regulation and not send it to OT.

Ha, very laughable comment right there if you ask me. Allow me to name a few: Kobe Bryant, Carmelo Anthony, Jason Kidd, Chauncey Billups, Gilbert Arenas, etc. There are more than enough clutch players in the league, why do you think so many games are going into OT?

Knicks have had a lot of OT games, I think 4 - two of them being in triple OT.

I haven't checked the stats, but I don't think the teams with the clutch players you mentioned have gone into OT more often than the others. It all comes down to what the team does in the final 30 seconds of the game. Maybe the coaches are conservative as well.

I think it's the exact opposite. There are lots of clutch players now.... and thats the reason why games are going into OT.

Marbire got it right. Players like Kobe, Arenas, and AI are able to comeback on teams and tie it to send it to OT.

Seriously, there has been a lot of great 4th quarter comebacks this season.
