<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">P.J. Brown has had a rock-solid 14-year NBA career as a physical power forward. Serving as a fourth-quarter go-to guy was never in his job description.

But Brown, averaging just 4.8 points this season, scored 3 vital baskets in the final four minutes of the Bulls? 96-85 victory over Dallas on Thursday.

?Things just started rolling, man,? Brown said. ?The ball felt good. I guess the No. 1 thing, you?ve got to want to take the shots. I got in a nice little rhythm, and once I got going, I just kept shooting. So I treasure this night, and I don?t know if I?ll have another one the rest of the year.?

After Dallas closed within 79-76 with 4:30 remaining, Brown hit a long turnaround jumper. A few minutes later, the 37-year-old dropped in a scoop shot, then nailed another turnaround to make it 90-81 with 1:16 remaining.

In the last two games combined, Brown produced an impressive 27 points and 18 rebounds, which had Bulls coach Scott Skiles second-guessing himself.

?I?ve got to look at myself during the period he wasn?t playing that much and question whether I should have gotten him more minutes earlier in the season,? Skiles said.

?I?ve been pleased with P.J. really the whole season. We thought we were getting a long, defensive-oriented player who was a rebounder, that still had plenty of game left, could still make open shots, could affect people around the basket. I feel like for the most part, he?s done all of that stuff.?

Brown also spent more time than anyone guarding Dallas star Dirk Nowitzki, who hit just 7 of 22 shots.</div>

I never understood not utilizing him to begin with. He's always been a consistant (at his role) and valuable forward wherever he played before landing in Chicago. Good to see the coach using him more frequently, however, they need a solid scorer in the paint on a daily basis and I don't think P.J. is our man for that.

Man he was a beast in that 4th though. Those shots were not easy to make.

One thing that worries me though, is giving PJ Brown more playing time, and having him break down during the stretch run of the year, as he did last season in New Orleans. We need his size in our front court, we cannot afford to lose him at this point. With the injury to Michael Sweetney we would be really small in the front court if he gets injured. I am glad to see him stepping his game up.

He wasn't really playing as well as he is now. His jumper wasn't falling at all early in the year.
