<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">LOS ANGELES - Chris Kaman signed a five-year, $52.5 million contract extension right before this season. Then, during the season, he's been inconsistent, and so one assumption is that he's no longer motivated because of his mega-millions. Well, Kaman resoundingly says that theory is wrong. Instead, he says that he's trying to deal with a string of injuries that he avoided practically all of last season. Has there ever been a time when he's felt injury-free? "I have," he said. "But not this year. Going into training camp, I felt really good. And then I pulled my hamstring, and I was out two and a half weeks. And that was just kind of frustrating because I worked real hard this summer to get into shape. I was in the gym everyday, with the exception of Sundays." The hamstring injury forced Kaman to miss most of training camp and the team's final six exhibitions. When he came back, he looked awkward at times and had some bad games. Then, at the end of November, he sprained an ankle in practice, and that knocked him out for four games, and again, forced him to readjust. </div> Source
What a season it's been for him and the Clippers. I remember last year Kaman and Brand would own the glass together, grabbing 20 'boards on occasion. I haven't followed many Clips games this year, but I'm sure if he would perform like he did last season this team would get a huge boost, especially now that Cassell is back and doing well.
Well since health has come, the team has been doing pretty well. Kaman hasn't still fully overcome his slow start.
