I've been thinking about this a lot lately for some reason...probably because you can't watch television anymore without hearing the words Brett Favre (or Barry Bonds).

If Favre wants to win so badly and also believes this will definitely be his last year, why not re-negotiate his contract and play for a one year league minimum deal for $800,000 this year? Since the Packers have already technically spent the money, they could use the "new money" to sign LaVar Arrington and Charles Woodson, then use their first pick on Vernon Davis.

The team gets instantly a ton better on both sides of the ball and Favre gets his last shot at a winner before he retires. He's said in the past that money isn't important to him. He's already got more than he can spend and more comes in all the time with endorsement deals and other side projects.

If winning is all that's important, why not put your $10,000,000 salary where your mouth is?

Edit: The Packers could also give some of the money to Javon Walker to get him to play out the final year of his deal. They could give it to him as a roster bonus, while leaving his existing contract intact.

ehh problem is though the Pack have enough money right now to get both Woodson and Lavar. TT just won't risk paying that much money too players with injury problems.

Why give TT More money to Save? Thompson has enough to sign Arrington and Woodson to VERY good deals(although im kind of sketchy about giving Woodson a huge deal) and still sign our draft picks, Of course you know actually signing players who can help now isn't a good thing to do according to TT though.

First & foremost, BF should stop complaining about how McNair is being treated and make a damn decision. It irked me at his big press conference a few weeks ago that he wondered why the media was there? Duh!

Green Bay's front office needs to stop caving and pushing the roster bonus deadline back. I'd even go so far as to force Brett's hand by acquiring a veteran QB (Feidler (I don't recall who else is out there)) to be a stop gap until AR is ready.

Farve should shut up. The person who legitimately broke sack record deserved better, but he didnt say anything then. Oh, right, cuz he is a cheater.

Favre and McNair are actually really good friends so I think he was more so sticking up for his buddy but I agree it's been too long now. He needs to commit or retire.

Is it considered cheating when the outcome of the game isn't effected (and was already over pretty much) and the record that was broken was broken by actual cheating (steroids)

Considering that Gastneau deserves to be in jail (or could be knowing him) but none the less took roids to get the record so it's tarnished and Strahan is a cheater for allianced with Favre.. That leaves us the man who is tied for #3 on the single season list.. BF1 very good pal.. the greatest Defensive player ever to play the game....

Tied? So not just him? Is the other guy a racist too? It is nice the greatest players in packers history are a cheater and a racist. Nice heroes you have there. All i have is Walter Payton, who started his own charity secretly to give presents to children on christmas. He didnt tell anyone it was him, and they were all given as if from santa. Keep propping up your racist, cheater heroes though [IMG]

Sounds like we're sour towards the mid 90's Packers.. because of the pain they caused you. How bout instead of blaming the Pack you blame the guys running your team.. The guys who drafted Curtis Enis. The Guys who drafted David Terrell.. (wait that was the 00's too)

Let's forget about the Lombardi Trophy (nice trophy isn't it), Don Hutson. Bart Starr, Willie Davis, Ray Nitschke. Need I say more... Cause I could if you liked?? Though it'd be hard to find better players in the mid 90's than Brett Favre and Reggie White.. and we all know both were at their best against the cubbies...

Then again if my starting QB looked like this ever year

and my backup was doing this probably before Sundays (that'd explain a lot)

Then again it could of been worse...

Nothing against the packers of the 90's

It isnt just them who should be shunned by society.

I am pretty sure some of the pack of the 60's was suspended for gambling.

Being a degenerate and being a packer is saying the same thing.
