<div class="quote_poster">Voodoo Child Wrote</div><div class="quote_post">Wait, so D'Antoni picks the replacement starter, but then Stern gets to pick a reserve? That blows. That's basically taking one spot away from the coach's vote. I just checked 82games.com, and Dirk has played 9% of the Mavericks' minutes at center this season, so it wouldn't be ridiculous to see him picked as the replacement.</div> That would be a classy move, but then the question becomes why can't he start KG at the 5, move T-Mac to the 3 and start Stevie?
<div class="quote_poster">phunDamentalz Wrote</div><div class="quote_post">Does Dirk ever play center though? I think he has to put Amare as the starter and play Dirk a couple more minutes than Nash so he doesn't look too biased. Even Tracy said that Nash should be starting instead of him which was a great thing to say.</div> When It comes to picking who plays center in an all-star game the coach likely goes with the best available big man. Which is obviously Dirk. I don't like the voting system. Dirk should of been the starter anyway. It's the same as having T-mac ahead of Nash. The voting system should be vote for Point guards shooting guards forwards centers That way you won't have two shooting guards starting togeather.
The starter will be picked by D'Antoni and in all likelyhood it will either be Dirk or Nash. If Nash were to start, it would shift everyone down a posistion with T-Mac at SF, KG at PF and Duncan at C. If Dirk were to start it would be him and KG at the F's with Duncan at C, or too make things easier Dirk would be named the C. If you read the Daily Dime on ESPN, Stein was speculating that Nash being the humble kind guy he is, would suggest to D'Antoni that Dirk starts rather than him if it came down to it.

If Paul Pierce was healthy he would definitely deserve an All Star but I think he wont be playing this year. Steve Nash, Dirk Nowitzki and Dwight Howard as a reserves is a massive insult to the amazing skills these players have. It also shows that most NBA fans aren't to smart about the game or the players. I'll feel like I am disrespecting them if I list them as reserves.

Wow, Tony Parker ahead of Carmelo Anthony and Josh Howard, are you kidding me? Anyways, I hope one of those two fill in for Boozer. Here's the full list: East Chauncey Billups Caron Butler Vince Carter Richard Hamilton Dwight Howard Jason Kidd Jermaine O'Neal West Carlos Boozer Allen Iverson Shawn Marion Steve Nash Dirk Nowitzki Tony Parker Amare Stoudemire
I was most surprise about the Parker pick. I'd pick Howard and Anthony over him. Dirk should of been voted in as a C instead of Amare, and Amare should be the replacement for Yao with Carmelo/Howard being the replacement for Boozer (the other being voted in as a F).

As i said in another post, Parker is one of the most unstoppable weapons from the backcourt in this league. He can get into the paint against ANYBODY and is right behind Gilbert, Kobe, Dwayne in that area. Name ONE THING that Howard is near the best at in this league. He's not one of the best rebounder, scorers, shooters, etc. Very nice player but not allstar material.
