    <div class="quote_poster">A.F. Venom Wrote</div><div class="quote_post">Is there any statistical backing for that?</div>

42.7 percent of all statistics are made up on the spot.

And phunDamentalz, go back and reread the series of posts. I was the one who got called out by AF, not vice versa, and I have had no problem with him saying anything about race, nor have I even talked about the topic.

This OT-forum is really going to ****.

Including the one you just made?

Well according to: http://www.fbi.gov/ucr/hc2005/offenders.htm, out of 6,804 hate offenders, 60% of them are white.
    <div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">
Yes, I think they do. They know they can sell their papers or raises their ratings when it's a white on black hate crime, because black people make a big stir about it. Black people riot, they protest. They overreact. White people? When was the last time you saw white people get unruly over a hate crime? When was the last time, before this, that you saw white people as the victims of hate crimes?</div>
Look at the history behind hate crimes on blacks/minorities in America, thats the reason why white on black crime is publicized the way it is. It's more touchy because of how bad it was, it also helps that white on black crimes occur a lot more frequently. Maybe I haven't heard about many black on white hate crimes because they occur on a smaller scale and less often.

Nice, going to a linked source from the FBI, the most reliable of sources. Also you realize most hate crimes against whites or other races are not documented most of the time.

Yes, it was a joke. It was meant to be ironic.

And yes, most of the "convicted" offenders are. What does that mean though? Not much. I agree with the sentiments in M Two One's post, just from living life in all parts of America, from the South to the Midwest to the North, reverse racism is a sad truism.

[not a personal attack]Really, how much can you say about racism, living in Destin, Florida, a city that has a .37% African-American population?[/not a personal attack]

There is no point on me arguing about this anymore. I had a lot of stuff typed but I ctl-a-deleted it. I don't really have the time to beat a dead horse.

Is it because Voodoo called you out on Destin? Do you not have a response for that? This is a debate, don't end it.

I've experienced Black people being very racist/hateful towards me and my family various times (I agree with what M Two One is saying). Not to say that white people are perfect, but there are many times (in my life or the world in general) I feel black people act very racist but it is not reported in the news due to caucasians feeling guilty about the past. Still, it bothers me.

That didn't offend me, just because I live in a perdominately white area doesn't mean I don't know, or haven't experienced racisim.

And you guys are claiming that all these hate crimes against whites go unreported, what is your basis for that? What reason would white people have not to report crimes against them?

I didn't really mean to spark such an intense discussion. To tell you the truth, I don't think it's possible to accurately determine which race is subject to more hate crimes. M2One, I understand what you had to go through when you were growing up, but maybe it's just the area? I grew up in an area, where I was basically the only Indian person in my school. When I was in elementary school, kids from a neighbouring Middle School used to come in during their lunch break to beat up the only brown kid in the school. It's all a matter of perspective.

The media is definitely a powerful tool. Honestly, I probably shouldn't have generalized like that in my first post. But there are so many more hypocrisies in media coverage (eg: white women being portrayed to evoke more sympathy than women of any other race). In the end, I don't think any of those issues really apply to this case. It's just a bunch of assholes that deserve to be incarcerated.

^He didn't refute any of their points, so I don't see how he has great debating skills. I hate to say it, and I don't have any stats to back this up, but if this were a mob of white people beating on 3 black women, it would be all over the news in the US and Canada. This is the first I've heard of this incident. The worst thing about it to me, is that the harshest sentencing they will receive is a year in juvy or probation. That's BS. I also can't believe that they were giggling and braiding eachothers hair in trial, just shows that they don't realize the severity of what they did. Should the women have had to lose their lives for the judge to take this seriously?

Probably because Fresh has been the only person to throw out credible statisitics. Everyone else (me included) has posted up assumptions and personal experiences.

I would think that the statistics that AF used would be invalid. When a white person assaults a black person, the first thing that comes to mind is a hate crime. When a black person assaults a white person, that's not always the case. I'm not being racist or biased, its just due to the fact that blacks are the minority.

Still dude, that's such a generalization. There's no way of really proving that it's right or wrong in every case, which is what I think A.F. was trying to say.

How do you know what the first thing that comes to mind of law enforcement is when it comes to assault? It's not like the law bullsh!ts about it, it would only make sense to have concreate evidence to convict someone on a hate crime.

I really don't think statistics lie people.

Then you need more life experience.

This isn't an issue that can be summed up by the amount of hate crimes on register by the FBI. It's an issue that should be best interpretted by personal experience and observations of someone qualified to speak on the subject, as in someone who has lived all over the place, or at least in an urban community at some point in his life, not Destin, Florida.

OK so YOU'VE experienced racism. Your one person amongst a nation of millions, and amongst the millions what race is convicted the most on hate crimes?

Let me tell you something also you don't know me , I may not live in an "urban community" doesn't mean I haven't experienced racism. Stop making assumptions you haven't a clue about over a keyboard. Not to mention you don't even have to experience it personally. You here more about white against black racism because it occurs more.

A few people in here say that have experienced racism from black people. Realize that your personal experience don't represent what goes on in the rest of America. Of course there are going to be some blacks who are racist against whites, but 60% of hate criminals are white, and yes I'm repeating myself, thats the only point that needs to be made to me.

Well, seeing how Destin has less than 1% black population, I'm wondering what racism you could have encountered.

And as for the whole point of personal experience vs. statistics, I think that personal experience is more credible, IF, and this is a big IF, it's coming from the right person, like M Two One, who is apparently a man of the world and has seen all different facets of society, or myself, having lived in the urban South in Mississippi, America's capitol of racism, as well as living in urban Detroit, the city with the highest crime rate in America. From my personal experience, black people may not always be convicted, nor will they always be classified as hate crimes, and I think XSV brings up a good point with that, but they commit hate crimes just as frequently as any other race. See:

<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">Most states have approached hate crime legislation by creating penalty enhancements for pre-existing crimes when those crimes were motivated by hatred, bias, or prejudice, based on the victim's inclusion in one of several legally-specified protected minorities. Thus, commission of a hate crime requires that two elements be proven. First, it must be shown that the defendant committed an enumerated predicate offense, such as assault, robbery, manslaughter, or kidnapping. Second, it must be shown that the defendant had illegal motivations based on the victim’s minority status</div>

Miami is a very diverse place, full of all sorts of people. I don't see how my experiences can only be isolated to the area I live in.

I simply believe there are various times in the news, my community, etc. , that certain Black people feel entitled to something (eg reparations) and get away with things due to white guilt (or because they've grown so accustomed to playing the race card).
