from charlotte.com <div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'>The Carolina Panthers have signed free agent outside linebacker Na'il Diggs. The veteran out of Ohio State spent his first six NFL seasons with the Green Bay Packers. He was drafted in the fourth round of the 2000 draft. The 6-foot-4, 240-pounder played in 84 games, including 80 as a starter, and recorded 541 tackles (390 solo). He struggled with injuries last season, and played in nine games for Green Bay.</div> With the panthers signing LBs Adams and Diggs, its looking more and more like panthers will draft a RB like Maroney, Addai or White. Or a TE like Pope. I still dont know if they will draft a 1st round LB because of Adams and Diggs, and they really love Adam Seward. If they drafted a 1st round LB they might put Thomas Davis back at safety, which would mean Shawn Williams would be a backup. For the 2nd round good selections would be Marcedes Lewis/Fasono or D'quell Jackson. I also really like Devin Hester as a return man and Laurence Vickers as a HB/FB as an insurance policy.
Good im glad Diggs got a new team! I was Irate when TTwas cut him, he was a near perfect fit for the new system and even though he was injured he acceled in it when healthy. Good signing by Carolina
<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (blackadder)</div><div class='quotemain'>So, does the signing of Adams and Diggs mean that Carolina goes S or TE in the 1st round?</div> I think something like that because they have four good backups who can be a starter opposite Thomas Davis, in Diggs, Chris Draft, Adam Seward(2nd year player) and Keith Adams. I think they will add depth at LB positon. Panthers are very intereseted in Darnell Bing, so they might trade back and get him. If Pope is gone they might get Whitner also. Panthers are good at all positons, if they draft a 1st round LB they can move Thomas Davis to SS. So panthers could go anyway in the draft from S, HB, LB, TE.
