Rick Spielman is talking about trade value? This is the same jacka$$ who moved up one spot & gave up a 4th rounder to pick a player (V Carey) that the team he got burned by (Vikings) more than likely wan't going to pick.

Hoge is going to talk about how this will be Ron Mexico's year to step up as a pocket passer. I read Atlanta was simplifying their offense for i.e Vince Young @ Texas last year. Specifically more designed runs and/or 1 read and take off.

The "experts" one day may be as knowledgeable as us here on this site.

Worse than just getting fleeced by the Vikings for that 4th, there were other players on the board that had equal or higher grades and were positions of need....they would be much better off right now with Vince Wilfolk as thier young NT and that 4th rounder, whoever it was, on the roster(or not)....

I've been watching these draft specials and I, too, am rather unimpressed with pretty much everything Rick Spielman has to say as "our Resident GM."

Most of the guys on that show should pretty much go take a flying leap...

I recently read an article that suggested that the more vocal an "expert" is about the NFL Draft, the less they actually understand it....that rings true when you consider that everyone you are hearing from now is disconnected from the league....if Rick Speilman was good, hed be employed by a team....the guys that really understand the draft, are preparing thier boards for the teams that employ them, and none of those guys are talking much, and the ones that are, are puffing more smoke than George Burns....

If Speilman new what he was talking about as much as ESPN hints to he'd have a job yet.. He obviously doesn't in the NFL. I hate the idea of someone trading up one spot to get a guy. I heard Chris Havel breaking his balls about SF trading up one spot with GB to get Vernon Davis and GB picks up the #22 pick.. Pure fantasy BS in my opinion..

Now I finally got my rant out of my way...

Totally agreed. There are 2 sayings that I like and are appropriate with "experts" & pundits in all fields. 1) the louder you say something, the less you have to say 2) The more something is stated, the more that person is trying to convince themself.

Has anyone noticed how rarely they go to John Clayton? He IMO is the only one who has a clue.

yea John Clayton is the constant guy that is usually right about what he says, as for the ESPN football "experts" we've had threads about this before and i think we all feel the same way
