so here's the thing: I've had earrings since i was 4 months old. I haven't worn earrings in a long time and the hole closed up. So i went and got both my ears pierced. Everything was fine until a day or two ago when one of my ears started swelling up. Now both of my ear lobes have swelledand it's really painful touching my ear lobes or rotating my earrings. I thought i would let it go cause i thought it would go away in a day or two but now it's getting to me. I'mgoing to the doctors tomorrow to get it checked.

advice? this happen to anyone else?

it might be a reaction to the type of earring you have in....you might be allergic to gold, silver, etc....or your backs might be too tight.....I'd take the earrings out and apply ice to both of your ears.....also keep using the ear care solution after you take them out.

At first I thought this was going to be a thread about bad music or something. I think my friend had this happen after he didn't wear his earrings for a long time. You should just go to the doctor tomorrow and see what he says and until then take Tylenol and ice your earlobes or something to relieve the pain.

Did you apply the ear care thing when you were supposed to? Not even 3 times a day, but you should do it like atleast once for the first 2 weeks or so.

Yeah, i do itlike twice a day. I can't even take my earrings off anymore cause it's swelledup to the point where i can reach the back of the earring (yeah, it's getting pretty bad).

If the earrings are causing a reaction (seeing that both your ears are swelling) then I would take them out. (just as a precaution)

Otherwise if they are infected or something then I guess a doctor would know better than I would on what to do. (other than eat well, get sleep)

apply ice, let the swelling go down some, and then take them out.

They're likely infected. I'd put ice on it to reduce the swelling and rub alcohol or bactine on it to kill the infection. Just be happy you don't have your nipples pierced.
