Well some of you may or may not know that I own my own Sixers fan site. I wrote a Midseason Report for the Sixers with a brief summary and player evaluations. Reason I am posting it in here is because I am aware of JBB's strict spamming policies. I didn't want to post it out in the public because as a message board admin, I know how annyoing spam is. I don't even know if I am supposed to be posting it in here. If this needs to be removed then so be it and I apologize. Just wasn't sure, but I wanted to share what I wrote.
I'm going to remove the link while I get this checked out with the admins bro. I will put it back if I get the ok. The board does require registration to view so IDK. I will get back at you.
<div class="quote_poster">AznxBaller Wrote</div><div class="quote_post">Wasn't your site affiliated with JBB? If so, it should be fine.</div> I think your thinking of sixerstalk. Anyway, bro since you wrote it you could just copy the text and post it directly into JBB. In the mean time you can ask shapecity, Hunter, or Mel about a possible affiliation.
Here it is. Lucky we both use vB code. <div align="center"> <font size=""1""><u>Sixers Midseason Report</u> SixersSource Exclusive by Chris MacDonald aka TheAnswer3 28 January 2006</font></div> The Future, Past and Present The first half of the 2006-2007 NBA season for the Philadelphia 76ers was a long, grueling and what owner, Ed Snider, described as a ?miserable? process. After 41 games through their half finished season, the Sixers stood with 11 wins and 30 losses. As of today, January 28, the Sixers have won 3 of their last 4 games and are 14-31. Winning however isn?t of the majority of Sixers fans? interest. [imgr]http://www.sixerssource.com/images/news/midseason01.gif[/imgr]With the 2007 NBA Draft just around the corner, the class of 2007 promises to be full of powerhouse prospects such as Ohio State freshman, Greg Oden, and Texas freshman, Kevin Durant. Both players are exactly what Billy King needs to seek to begin the Sixers? rebuilding process after the departures of Allen Iverson and Chris Webber. If the Sixers were to get the number one pick, something they have not done since 1996 after drafting the undersized but fearless guard from Georgetown, Philadelphia would need to compete with the likes of the Boston Celtics and the Memphis Grizzlies for the worst record in the NBA. The more losses, the more lottery balls for that number one pick. While Sixers fans try to push the Allen Iverson memories aside and think of the next A.I. (Andre Iguodala), many problems still face the current team. Many fans feel that head coach, Maurice Cheeks, has to go. Cheeks may just have too much of a laid back attitude to mold the young talent that in four or five years will be the face of the 76ers franchise. Although the team has seen four different coaches in the last four years, Snider has expressed his loyalty to Cheeks when commenting on the future of our young team saying, ?We have a coach" and that Executive Vice President and former head coach, Larry Brown, will not be returning to the bench. [imgl]http://www.sixerssource.com/images/news/midseason02.gif[/imgl][imgl]http://www.sixerssource.com/images/news/indent2.gif[/imgl]The story of the 2006-2007 season for the Philadelphia 76ers cannot be told without acknowledging the end of an era. The Allen Iverson Era. If one MVP award, two All-Star MVP awards, seven All-Star appearances, four scoring titles and a magical trip to the promised land that was three wins from bringing Philly home a title was not enough to love Allen Iverson, then one must have no heart. However, the beautiful 10-year relationship between Iverson and the city of brotherly love came to an ugly end. Trade talks surrounded Iverson last summer and most fans almost saw A.I. wearing green up in Boston. From then on, most knew that Iverson would be on the table and the last thing Allen wanted was an ending like this. Early December ?06, media outlets quickly spread the word that Iverson demanded a trade to general manage, Billy King. A couple weeks later on December 19, 2006, Iverson was dealt with teammate Ivan McFarlin to the Denver Nuggets for Andre Miller, Joe Smith and two first round draft picks in this year?s draft. The Allen Iverson era was now over and Philly fans had no idea what King has in store. It is a darn good thing that the Sixers made a very smart decision in June 2004. It was the first year the Sixers missed the playoffs and were a lottery team since 1996. The Sixers were given the ninth pick and chose guard/forward from the University of Arizona, Andre Iguodala. Iguodala, a 6?6 former Wildcat, quickly became a fan favorite in Philadelphia. Highly noted for his high flying dunks, hard nosed man-to-man defense and unreal athleticism, the current A.I. had to move over and give A.I. 2 some room. Iguodala was always Iverson?s sidekick and was not looked upon for big stats, but instead throwing down Iverson?s alley-oop passes. Now that Iverson (and Webber) are no longer in Philadelphia, Iguodala has accepted a new role. ?Iggy? has become the team?s leading scorer and go-to-guy at all times. He now averages 17.0 points per game, besting his 2005-2006 average by almost five points. Iguodala has also become a great rebounder and shown great passing ability. Andre has dished out five or more assists 24 times this season and has 10 assists twice. Iguodala has become the face of the 76ers in less than a month and you can bet that Snider and King will keep this kid untouchable for a long, long time. Player Scouting Below you will find statistics and scouting notes for each player on the 76ers roster. Grading was evaluated based on player?s own potential, not compared to the other players. Carney, Rodney - #25 ? Forward 5.9 PPG, 1.6 RPG, 0.3 APG, 43 GP Rodney Carney was the 16th overall selection in the 2006 NBA Draft by the Chicago Bulls but quickly traded to the 76ers for their pick, Thabo Sefolosha of Switzerland. Carney has been a solid player for Philadelphia and has shown great hustle on both ends of the court, awesome athleticism and the ability to get to the rim. Player grade: B Dalembert, Samuel - #1 ? Center 10.7 PPG, 8.20 RPG, 2.1 BPG, 45 GP The native of Haiti has become less of a fan favorite because of his poor decision-making and bad habit of getting into foul trouble often, but Samuel Dalembert has been decent for the Sixers this year. Now that this season?s outcome does not matter and playoffs are out of the question, Dalembert can use the rest of the season to work on his low post defense and scoring. Lately he has shown his ability to hit the mid-range jumper and has been an excellent rebounder. Player grade: C+ Green, Willie - #33 ? Guard 11.6 PPG, 2.00 RPG, 1.4 APG, 39 GP Willie Green has been one of the most hot and cool players on the Sixers? roster this season. In November his shooting percentage and shot selection looked terrible, but come December-early January, his form is looking great and he has not been forcing his offense. His scoring averages have increased a good amount too. However, he is still streaky and inconsistent. Green is a great guy to have out on the break, but needs to become more of an all around player if we really plan to use him in the future. Player grade: C- Henderson, Alan - #44 ? Forward/Center 3.6 PPG, 3.20 RPG, .667 FG%, 32 GP Alan Henderson was picked up by the Sixers this offseason to add more depth to our frontcourt. Henderson is an old big man, but brings some nice veteran leadership to our squad. His role on our team is rather simple and with Shavlik Randolph sidelined for the year, he will get his minutes but expectations are not high for his production. Henderson finishes well around the basket, but isn?t much of a defensive stud. Player grade: C- Hunter, Steven - #45 ? Center/Forward 5.3 PPG, 3.70 RPG, 1.4 BPG, 35 GP Having Steven Hunter on the Sixers bench has had nothing but pure benefit for the Sixers. Hunter is young and still learning, but when given minutes, the kid produces. Hunter has a better basketball mind than teammate, Samuel Dalembert, and can produce just as well. Hunter finishes well, rebounds well and plays defense well. Philadelphia tried to trade him last year, but aside that story, he?s back and exceeding his expectations. Player grade: A- Iguodala, Andre - #9 ? Forward/Guard 17.0 PPG, 5.50 RPG, 5.1 APG, 45 GP Andre Iguodala has benefited from the Allen Iverson trade. He has become more of a leader, a better offensive player and a better team player. A.I. 2 needs to improve his jump shot and outside game, but all around you cannot ask for much more. Along side of teammate, Kyle Kover, Iguodala will be the leader of this team for many years to come. Player grade: A+ Jones, Bobby - #11 ? Forward 1.8 PPG, 1.10 RPG, .552 FG%, 23 GP The Sixers second round selection out of Washington from the 2006 draft may not live up to the former Sixer who shared the same name until given some minutes. As for now, Jones will have to watch from the pine and wait until his name is called. Because of his lack of playing time, his production really cannot be evaluated. Player grade: N/A Korver, Kyle - #26 ? Forward 14.4 PPG, 3.60 RPG, .433 3P%, 43 GP Kyle Korver, or more commonly known as K?, is Philadelphia?s biggest secret weapon on the offensive end, especially beyond the arc. Korver ranks 7th in the league in three point field goal percentage and has been knocking down clutch shots all year long. His all around game, which has been commonly criticized in the past, is slowly but steadily improving. Korver can finish near the basket and can take his man one-on-one down low. Scoring is where he thrives and has scored 25 or more points on 6 occasions this season. Ball handling, rebounding and passing are not his forte, but Kyle Korver is already becoming a veteran in his third year as a professional. Player grade: B+ Miller, Andre - #7 ? Guard 13.1 PPG, 4.60 RPG, 8.7 APG, 20 GP (PHI) Acquired from the Allen Iverson trade, Andre Miller brings his veteran leadership and great point guard mentality to his new team. Miller has the qualities of the league?s great point guards such as Steve Nash and Jason Kidd by making teammates around him better. Miller does not have to rely on scoring and can always find the open man. If Philadelphia keeps this guy around, our future will look very bright. Player grade: A+ Ollie, Kevin - #12 ? Guard 4.3 PPG, 1.60 RPG, 3.0 APG It seem as if Kevin Ollie has played just about on every team in the league. Finding ?home? really hasn?t worked out during his 10-year career, but having him on your team is not so bad. Most coaches would describe Ollie as a great back-up point guard who does the little things to win. Ollie can knock down the open shot, share the ball well with his teammates and play great man-to-man defense, for which many fans do not note some reason. Having Ollie around to back-up Andre Miller should be fine by anyone?s watch. Player grade: B Randolph, Shavlik - #42 ? Forward 4.5 PPG, 4.20 RPG, 0.8 BPG, 13 GP Randolph was injured on November 30th, fracturing and dislocating his ankles during a team practice. What we have seen from Randolph was just average and nothing to be excited about. Undoubtedly the kid has potential, but really has not had the opportunity to show anything. Randolph is eyeing mid-March for a return. Player grade: N/A Smith, Joe - #8 ? Forward 6.4 PPG, 4.6 RPG, 0.5 APG, 19 GP (PHI) Joe Smith is an 11-year NBA veteran who just wants to play. Smith was packaged from Denver in the Iverson deal and was ecstatic about given the opportunity to see some minutes on the floor. Smith has played well for Philadelphia and has contributed some veteran experience off the bench. Player grade: C Williams, Louis - #23 ? Guard 2.0 PPG, 0.9 APG, 0.2 SPG The former national high school player of the year has not given coach, Maurice Cheeks, any reason to get on the court. He sees minutes in blowout wins or losses but is too offensive minded. His lack of size hurts him and for a player of his stature, he lacks point guard qualities. Williams was sent do the developmental league and was outstanding and quickly pulled back up, but Williams needs to become more of a complete player to become a part of the Sixers? future. Hopefully by the time the kid is of legal drinking age he will be seeing some playing time. I think that if it was moved to the regular 76ers forum, more people will be able to view it (since not everyone is able to view the lounge), which will lead to more discussion
