Boozer has been declared out for this evening's home game against New Jersey, and is considered doubtful for Wednesday night's meeting with San Antonio at EnergySolutions Arena.
Beyond that, though, the Jazz had no timetable Sunday night for Boozer's anticipated return from a bruised left knee sustained when he bumped knees with Hornets center Tyson Chandler fewer than four minutes into Saturday's loss at Oklahoma City.

Further complicating matters for the Jazz is the status of starting small forward Andrei Kirilenko, who sat out Saturday due to a sprained right ankle sustained in Friday's win over Denver.
Kirilenko did express Saturday that there is a slim chance he may be available to play against the Nets, and he said he doesn't expect to be out longer than a few days, but the team is dubbing him as doubtful for tonight.</div>

<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">SALT LAKE CITY (January 31, 2007) – The Utah Jazz announced today that a magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) and additional x-rays revealed a hairline fracture in Carlos Boozer’s left fibula head. Jazz physician Dr. Lyle Mason treated Boozer and identified the hairline fracture, which was then confirmed by a second opinion. Injuries of this nature typically take four to five weeks to fully heal.

The injury was suffered at the 8:11 mark of the first quarter of Saturday night’s game at the New Orleans/Oklahoma City Hornets in Oklahoma City.</div>

Devastating news for Utah. Carlos Boozer was having a career season and was the main force behind Utah's 1st place lead in their division. Paul Millsap should be the run away ROY with the playing time he's going to receive.

Can Utah hold off Denver and Minny? Will Utah pull the trigger on a deal now?

Just in time for him to miss the Cleveland game in 2 weeks, isn't it a bit suspicious he has to have his doctor in LA to look at the MRI and not the team doctor. In 2 seasons here, he hasn't played the Cavs yet.....

Kirilenko and Okur both play better at the 4, so I don't know if I'd say pull away. We also got Millsap who's dominated the boards in the two games he's played in taking Boozer's minutes. This just means Hoffa (and his hard work ethic) will start to get playing time and I see us bringing in a D-League guy like Jeff Graves or someone. Graves is on our D-League representive in Idaho, so that's why I said him and he's done pretty good on a stacked team. This could also mean Brewer could get more PT with AK playing the 4.

This hurts. Boozer was having a career season and leading Utah in points and rebounds per game. Millsap should start getting big minutes every game now, and in the games he's got big minutes recently he has put up some impressive numbers. His chances at ROY just improved greatly.

Am I the only panic-free person right now [IMG] Kirilenko plays way better @ the 4 than he does at the 3 or 2 cuz he's able to stay around the rim to get blocks. He also is much quicker than post players and is able to get them in foul trouble on the offensive end. I just hope that they use him @ the 4 instead of playing Hoffa & Jargon (Jarron Collins for those who don't know, trying to get it to catch on [IMG] ) more.

The Jazz have got players more than capable of playing at power forward while Boozer is out, but anytime you lose a player who had a good shot at becoming an all star, it isn't going to help.
