How would you rank every team in the west so far? Base it on record if you like, but some teams might be underachieving/overachieving. There are alsosome teams plagued with injuries.

Give them a rating: base it chemistry, record, how they would when healthy, team talent etc. (whatever you liek i guess)

    here's mine:

    1. Pheonix Suns - 98: Best team in the league right now. They're my team to win it all.

    2. Dallas Mavericks - 97: Both Dallas and Pheonix IMO are head-and-shoulders above the rest of the league right now and itwas tough to choose. Dallas is a better defensive team.

    3. San Antonio Spurs - 92

    4. Houston Rockets - 90

    5. Utah Jazz - 89

    6. LA Lakers/Fakers - 87

    7. Denver Nuggets - 82

    8. Minnesota Timberwolves - 80

    9. LA Clippers

    10. New Orleans

    11. Golden State

    12. Seattle

    13. Portland

    14. Memphis

Just rate the top 8 teams if you like.

    Speeeeaaak.

    2. Dallas Mavericks
    3. Houston Rockets (When Yao returns).
    4. San Antonio Spurs (I have a feeling that they'll fail in the playoffs, though).
    5. Los Angeles Lakers (Many close losses and losses to weak teams. Odom is officially back and Bynum is getting better and better. Our bench is good and Kobe is magnificent. We've got great chances, we just have to close out the winnable games).
    6. Utah Jazz
    7. Denver Nuggets
    8. Los Angeles Clippers

I see your favorite player is Derrick Rose? I played against him in 8th grade. He dominated us. [IMG]

Don't mind me asking, but how have the Spurs lost their defensive dominance? They're only giving up 90.68ppg, and that's losing it? Beyond that, they're 6th in FG%, giving up only 44.7%. Beyond that, how you have the Rockets ahead of them is beyond me. The Rockets don't have Yao, whereas the Spurs are healthy and playing much better as of late (won 7 of last 10 and made a good come back to beat the Lakers in OT). I think you have a little too much bias, because if you ask me, the Rockets aren't quite as good as the Spurs, especially not without Yao. I don't care what their record is, but without Yao, that team doesn't compare to the Spurs.

The Lakers have been losing stupidly as of late, but I think they and the Nuggets at full power can overcome the Jazz.

    1. Mavs (need to keep doing whatever it is they're doing)
    2. Spurs (need to focus and remember how they did it in the past)
    3. Phoenix (need to defend as a team)
    4. Lakers (need to establish who the 2nd and 3rd options are; Dallas and Phoenix has done that. L.A. has not.)
    5. Houston (need the same starting line-up for 20 games in a row to improve their sense of ID)
    6. Jazz (need a Manu or a Sam Cassell type o guy)
    7. Denver (need to swap 5 alley-oops for 5 defensive efforts)
    8. Golden State (need to believe in themselves for real)

    Suns
    Mavs
    Spurs
    Utah
    Lakers
    Nuggets
    Rockets
    Garnett

    That would be perfect, imo
    ------
EDIT: I was looking at the off-season WC standings prediction thread and no one even mentioned Utah. It's funny because they always start off good then injuries would take its toll on them, but this season they have been great.

    I put:
    1)Suns
    2)Mavs
    3)Spurs
4)Sac-town....and they aren't even in the NW division.[IMG] I replace them with Utah.
    5)Houston
    6)LAC
    7)Denver
    8)KG/LAL

You know that everyone who picked the Rockets maintained (if healthy) right.

Do they deserve any? Denver If they started to play any decent defense would be respected more. Until they do, they just have the names.

Which is why we beat them without Yao? The reason why many people ranked Rockets so high is the fact on how well they are playing without Yao. Against phoenix, Rockets were up by 15 at one point(I think at halftime) without Yao AND TMac. Many people ranked the Rockets based on how well we would be provided that Yao is healthy.

Iverson is #6 in steals per game, Camby is #2 in blocks per game. I think they are a better defensive team than Phoenix is. Once they get into a good offensive rhythm as the season goes, I think they'll be a dangerous team in the west.
