<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">Miami Heat guard Dwyane Wade will defend his PlayStation? Skills Challenge title against three of the league?s biggest stars on Feb. 17 as part of NBA All-Star Saturday Night at Thomas & Mack Center in Las Vegas. The competitors hoping to deny Wade?s quest for a repeat are the Los Angeles Lakers ? Kobe Bryant, the Cleveland Cavaliers ? LeBron James and the Phoenix Suns ? Steve Nash.

The PlayStation Skills Challenge was introduced at NBA All-Star 2003 in Atlanta and consists of four players competing in a two-round timed ?obstacle course? consisting of dribbling, passing and shooting stations. All players must observe basic NBA ball-handling rules while completing the course. The two players with the fastest times from the first round advance to the finals with the order of competition determined by inverse order of the first round times. At the discretion of the referee, television instant replay may be consulted for clarification of rules compliance.</div>

Wow, that's about as good as it gets. I've never been a huge fan of the Skills Challenge but I'll definitely be watching closely this year. The league's four biggest stars all competing is going to be very exciting.

Well whoever wins this competition will determine who is the best player in the league once and for all.

This may be the best thing for the All-Star Weekend in a long time. We have the 2003 guys (LeBron and Wade) who are the young NBA icons, but then getting Kobe and Nash in there is an even better bonus. This event seems to last less than a half an hour, but it's still extremely exciting.

This is gonna be a battle !

But unfortunatelly, Mamba will win it.

I think Wade will win again. Nash choked bad last year in the skill challenge.

Lebron's obviously not quick enough to manuever those pylons, Nash chokes and Wade is quicker than all 3. The onlyperson i think has a chance is Kobe and i'm not too sure about him.

Already stated,my money is on Wade.

I have a feeling Wade and Lebron will struggle on the jumpshot. Kobe has the best shot out of them all, so I think he might take it. That said, if Wade doesn't mess up on the shot, he is just too quick for the other guys. It should be close between Kobe, Nash and Wade. Lebron isn't built for this contest.

Nash messed up badly last year, but I think he's going to bounce back and win it this year. This competition was built for him.

Agreed, I'll say Nash will pull through this year. Btw, I never figured out why LeBron wastes his time with these skill challenges, yet doesn't participate in the Dunk contest. That's the only thing I have ever disliked about him.

Thats because Lebronknows he doesn't have the creativity that other guys in the league (and in the past) have. He's already the face of the league, what else must he prove. There's also the possibility of him of embarassing himself.

Well that's exactly the same conclusion I came to. He seems to come off (in those LeBron Family commercials) as someone who is still some ultimate dunker, but doesn't "believe" in the dunk contest. It seems kind of weak.

I thought you were a Kobe fan.

Yea, he is the only super-star in the league I can think of at this moment to not participate in the dunk contest (that can really throw it down). He is upsetting a lot of his fans, so I think he should at least try...it seems like he is scared he isn't going to win or doesn't think he has what it takes or something...If he does change his mind, I am sure the NBA will do all they can to help him win (if he needs it).

Cause he [IMG] want to pass.

He probably just wants to relax during the break. Many of these guys spend a whole day practicingfor their events.

I think Lebron wants to have a challenge.

If I had to guess who would win
    1. Nash
    2. Kobe
    3. Wade (not as good a 3 pt shooter as Kobe)
    4. Lebron (not as quick/agile as the smaller guys)

I think last years' competition was pretty stacked talent-wise as well.

If I had to choose 4 players, it would probably be Wade, Nash, Kobe, and Chris Paul.

He wants a challenge? No one even cares about these skill competitions. He's just scared of failing in the dunk contest.

I can kind of understand why Lebron wouldn't want to enter the dunk contest. If he wins and does as well as he supposedly can, he has that as one of the defining points of his career. Similar to Vince Carter, he'll be fighting people who ignore his career accomplishments and label him as a dunker. If he loses, then he just loses credibility.
