I'll keep this short as I find it annoying to type with one hand. Yesterday I nearly broke my arm lifting weights. I set one weight on the bed because I needed scratch an itch and the weight slid and was about to fall on my foot. My reaction was to catch it before it fell, well, bad idea. It stretched my left arm back extremely far, but it didn't break thankfully. It hurt like hell, but was fine afterward until this morning.

Now I can hardly move the arm. If it doesn't go away soon I'll have to see a doctor, but I may be quite absent the next few days or at least until it fully recovers. I don't want to stress it by typing on a computer.

    Take care guys!

You should go see a doctor if the pain doesn't subside, you could of stretched out the ligaments or maybe tore something. Anyways, get better soon.....

Memo to self....don't scratch itch when lifting weights......

close call....I broke my arm trying to dunk once.....I was a junior in highschool and me and some friends were fooling around in between a pickup game......we all started to try to dunk, but when it came to my turn I broke my arm.......it was funny because I jumped REALLY high and could've easily dunked the ball, BUT I surprised myself when I jumped that high, got excited, lost control of the ball and my body and landed hands first......ended up breaking my left wrist and had to wear a cast for about 2 months.

Lol that's the worse...I remember I did that too when I was younger, and the sad part was there were girls everywhere.

    Get well, MTwo1

I think you are probably taking the right route. I think if I was in the same situation I would have instinctively tried to catch the weight to prevent it from hitting my foot.

If it hit your foot at a bad angle you probably would have broken it.

How's the arm feeling today? Hopefully there's no serious damage and just a minor tweak. How much weight were you lifting?

    Have a speedy recovery bro.

Feels a bit better today, thanks, but I'd prefer to just browse to keep up then type much. I will heading outside in a minute to get the arm in motion and walk around to a few places. The single weight was only 30 pounds. If it were 5 to 10 more I'm sure I would've broken the arm. As Omarion put it, if I hadn't tweaked my arm and let the weight drop instead, my foot would likely be broken right now.

Couldn't you moved out of the way before it hit the ground because you had enough time to try and catch it?

Anyways, hope you get well soon.

Well if it hit the floor it would've damaged the wood. That'd result in a loss of $1,700 down before we moved in here. Also you can't determin how you'll react in that type of situation.

I'm going to a PT tomorrow.

Ah well I was going in to the PT and the guy said he doesn't want to charge me so he asks me a few questions to avoid the actual "visit." I told him what happened and he agrees that is just the natural human reaction to attempt to catch the falling object. However, he sent me home and told me to just take it easy for a few days. No heavy lifting, no exercise (which sucks), etc and if it doesn't get better in three days I should come back again. It seems fine now, but I still feel stress on the arm. I don't believe there is any damage that requires medical attention.

    Thankfully.

Oh, that is good. So do you have full range of motion and the ability to lift something like a pitcher of water?
