He might get a little more playing time, said Jazz assistant coach Phil Johnson. "He's the hardest-working guy on the team. Nobody puts in more time working on his game than Rafa," Johnson said. "We've seen improvement in practices, and we'd like to find a few more minutes for him. It's not easy with our roster of big men, but he's earned it."</div>

Did your guys coach ever say this about him, I'm sorta scared if he starts getting minutes. Even though he plays okay when he does play, I don't want to see this guy. I was just curious if he was ever complimented in Toronto.....

    BTW--Why's he called Hoffa?

His name is pronounced Hafael, so his nickname was Hoffa. He had it before he hit the NBA, though.

It's good to hear that he's working hard, but we heard it too (with all the offseason work he put with the Brazilian National Team). Eventually, he's going to have to show he can play during a game for a reasonable stretch.

Yea, I think Hoffa did try hard, but he didn't seem to be quick enough to score on offense, and not a very good shot blocker.

Let's just say, aside from Chris Bosh, he was probably the hardest working Raptor we've had in a long time.

Unfortunately, hard work does not equal talent.

He had a lot of trouble adapting to the NBA game IMO.. I think it was part of his development, didn't seem like the coaching staff coached/directed him well, and on most games if not all, was left out to dry. His basketball IQ didn't seem that high either, and the only thing he does good but is annoying are his screams and roars when he misses getting a rebound or something..

How about the tipoff where he lost to Nate Robinson??

Here's the monthly Hoffa exclusive [IMG]

He actually played pretty well this month with Boozer hurt. The game on ESPN against the Nuggets he played 34 minutes had 5 points and dominated the Nuggets alongside Millsap with 10 rebounds. He's also quite the intiminador with all those hard, and I mean hard, fouls down low [IMG]
