So I have read that Eddie Jones has been bought out, I was thinking is it really worth signing him. source He's currently averaging 5.6 ppg, 2.1 rpg, 1.1 apg in 19.9 mpg. I think he would be a good signing because he won't want much, he's been with the heat for some years and this would be his second reunion with Shaq. The Heat are belo .500 so any signing can't be that bad really.
lol, they buy him out like less than week after he hits that game winner for them in Utah. Anyways, he's like a combination of Posey and Kapono in a sense. We already have tough finding time for Dorrell Wright to play. Right now, we need another big or backup PG. Eddie would be just burried on the bench. However, with Posey's up and downs I wouldn't mind having him back. We really have other needs though.
It's true... <div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">Eddie Jones is heading back to the Miami Heat, ESPN.com has learned. Jones agreed Monday on a buyout with the Memphis Grizzlies, giving up about $300,000 of his $15.7 million salary to gain his freedom from the team with the NBA's worst record. The money lost through the buyout will be made up when he signs for a prorated portion of the NBA minimum. Jones will clear waivers Thursday morning, after which he can sign with any NBA team. However, a source close to the situation said Jones has already decided he'll sign with Miami, meaning it is possible he will be in uniform for the defending champs when they play the Cleveland Cavaliers on Thursday night. The 12-year veteran spent five seasons with the Heat before being dealt to the Grizzlies in the five-team trade in the summer of 2005 that sent James Posey, Jason Williams and Antoine Walker to the Heat. Jones was averaging just 5.6 points in 29 games for the Grizzlies after being a 16.0 scorer over the first dozen years of his career. </div> Link Jones is not what I see Miami needing to become a powerhouse team again, but I guess he won't have a negative affect on them. He was always a great scorer when they needed him most. Only problem is he was extremely overpaid.
Miami get even older? yikes. Seriously though, he can't hurt them. He knows their system and won't demand shots. He doesn't look like he has much left in the tank though.

I ask myself why..??? It's nice to have EJ back. But at the same time, we just got older, and added a player who does the same exact thing as 3 other guys on our roster.. Hopefully this isn't our last move, we got to get some young guys that can push the tempo and actually play defense.
