Now here are the A.I. highlights from the Mavs game in Denver on New Year's Eve. Even with Melo out and Camby hurting, the Nuggets were in it until the end on the strength of A.I.'s game. So keep the nasty 3-game losing streak in perspective. If the Nuggets came close to beating the Mavs without Melo, I would say the Nuggets have a chance of beating the Mavs in the playoffs if they are healthy and on the same page. Keep the faith. A.I. But, the Nuggets won the season series with the Warriors 3-1, which I bring up because the Warriors might end up tied with the Nuggets for the last playoff berth in the West, in which case the Nuggets win the tie breaker and get to play the Mavericks.

I'm thinking the Clippers are going to pass the Nuggets and get the 7th spot, because the Nuggets have alot of road games left against the top teams of the West, and the Clippers do not have a very tough schedule the rest of the way. Then the Nuggets, Warriors, and Hornets will scramble for the last playoff spot.

No one is happy about A.I.'s production while the Nuggets were being handled by the Spurs 4 games to 1, including Iverson, who admitted the obvious, that it was his worst playoff performance ever. But most heavy basketball thinkers in Denver are thinking that: (1) Iverson was not used to full advantage because there were too few offensive set plays and way too much Steve Blake and way too little A.I. at point guard. (2) As a result of (1), whenever Iverson got the ball, he felt that it was his duty to score at all costs. But in basketball, it's easier to score when you do not think you have to score.
