<div class="quote_poster">phunDamentalz Wrote</div><div class="quote_post">Seeing as how he basically NEVER dishes to Tim off the fast break, I don't see how Tim is a threat on those plays AT ALL. The Spurs basically have two plays -
    1) feed Duncan so he can feed it out to a 3 OR post up
    2) Tony goes in the paint and gets whatever he freaking wants. On these plays Duncan is usually out setting a pick which any 7-footer can do.

If you eliminate the "feed Duncan" plays, Tony's average would be much higher imo.</div>

The reason Parker can get to the rim at all is because Duncan is right there rolling with him to the rim and the defender doesn't want to commit to Parker. A guy like Duncan is a threat at all times on the court, thus why he makes players around him better. If Parker was on the pick and roll with Tyson Chandler he'd get denied entrance to the lane and swatted 20 rows back but because Duncan is the guy giving the pick and rolling to the rim the defender has to respect him.

Without Duncan, there's no lane for Tony to get wide open layups.

Every year there's going to be snubs, and the All-Star game has no relevance so I could careless who's in and who's out.

<div class="quote_poster">Run BJM Wrote</div><div class="quote_post">Hes only missed 5 games and his teams record isn't "horrible", though its not good. Ray Allen was never excluded even though most of the Sonics teams were bad and Allen Iverson's 76ers were terrible before he was moved to the Nuggets. Crazy that Baron gets left out with averages of 20.5 ppg/4.5 rpg/8.7 apg/ 2 spg and hes been playing great defense, had some game winning shots, and overall just having the best season of his career plus hes carrying a team on his back and Parker gets in with 19/3.2/5.6/1.</div>

I meant the Warriors record is horrible compared to the Spurs.

Replacement for Boozer, i'd probably have to say Zach Randolph....best year of his career, plus he hasnt even gotten hurt this year.. (knock on wood)
Replacement for Yao, this could go 2 ways...theres a player deserving of a spot who is having a really good alll around year....Marcus Camby should get consideration. Didnt get involved in the scrap in new year...surprising for him. hes avg 12 points 12 boards and 3 blocks. With ben wallace getting into the all star game twice with less points and similar boards n blocks. we have to consider camby.
Or we could put in Josh Howard who probably should have been in tony parkers spot anyways

I'm pretty angry that a team under .500 has two all stars representing them, yet the Bulls, who might have their coach at the game, have no players.

I hope Memo gets to go to replace Yao or Boozer. Memo has been clutch for us this year and deserves to go. He's been the definition of iron man since he's gotten in Utah and still hasn't gotten a invite to the All-Star game.

Does Stern get to pick the replacements?

We already have two centers with Stoudamire and Boozer. How about get Josh Howard in. IMO, him and Butler deserved it big time, since Butler got in, it'd be nice to get Howard in also.

I agree entirely, Vince didn't deserve it over Gordon this year. The All-Star game has been a cheese factory for well over a decade now though. I personally don't watch the event, but the selections are at least worth noting even if you don't watch.

Theyre almost never wide open. Most of the time it seems like the guy doubling Duncan runs over to help and deny penetration but Tony is so creative and fast reflexes in the paint he scores anyway through 2 defenders. His "layups" are often contested by 2 or more players bigger than him right at the rim. At least that is how I perceive what happens. I will pay attention to it next time.

I dont care what anyone says, Melo should be in the game, especially if Shaq made it after only playing 7 or so games.

This year, I really think both of the teams are fully loaded. If we had Yao Ming, it'd be better since I am a Rockets Fan, but this year the All-Star game is going to be sick. Can't wait. GO WEST!

How's that related? Shaq was voted in by the fans, and Anthony would have had to been elected by the coaches.

Melo should be an All Star bottom line.

Well people are talking about Melo not playing enough since he missed 15 games, I'm just saying, the ammount of games played obviously doesnt matter to anyone anymore.

You guys know what's insane, Tony Parker made it over Deron Williams. what's up with that? I know I may sound like a homer but Deron has had a better season than Parker so far. The stats don't lie [IMG]

    Tony Parker: 19ppg--3.2 rebs--5.6 assists--EFF+18.48--SPG 1.0-TO 2.6

    Dwill: 17.1ppg--3.40 rebs--9.0 assists--EFF19.49--SPG 1.2--TO 2.77

    Scoring edge: Parker
    Rebounding edge: D-Will
    Assists edge: D-Will
    EFF: D-Will
    Steals edge:D-Will
    Turnovers edge: Parker

I thought Jamison was having a better season than Butler.
