Aldridge made a great point. AI was voted in as a reserve even though he's missed almost the same amount of games as Carmelo, and his teams haven't had that much sucess. Carmelo on the other hand missed a few more games, and his team had much more sucess than AI. If you're to a pick one of the two, it has to be Carmelo. However, the guard situation in the West is a lot easier to judge than the forward situation.
No way has Jamison been better than Caron this year and he's also out 3-6 weeks. I don't like Melo that much, but he got snubbed big time. What a joke... No Deron? Pathetic.

You think he could shoot 50% from the field if Duncan wasn't right there in the paint? He'd be shooting low 40's like all the other guys who are great penetrators and average shooters.</div>Reading through the thread and I found this, and I must say, I disagree. While Duncan has an effect on Parker's game, it's not to that great of an extent. I still think Tony shoot's 50 percentile, even without him. He's just so quick and can find the seam to get in the lane, and that makes him very difficult to defend. There's a reason why he led the NBA in points in the paint last year, and that's it.

While 'Melo may be the leagues leading scorer, he's not a snub this year. Anyone that gets suspended for 15 games shouldn't make it. The league wants this to help get itself a positive rep, and putting 'Melo in there would not have helped. He may be having a great season and all, but when you get into that degree of a fight, you shouldn't be awarded an AS spot. Personally, I just think the league was looking out for itself with this one.
It wasn't that big of a fight, it was 1 punch really, and even though I don't like Melo he did get snubbed royally... 31 ppg and leading the league is no joke, and it's not like his team is bad.
The fact the team with the best overall record in the NBA only gets one all-star is a joke. I really hope Stern puts Josh Howard on the team.
If you want to talk about positive rep, how does Allen Iverson get in after demanding a trade and missing all of those games? I don't buy that.

He's been the definition of iron man since he's gotten in Utah and still hasn't gotten a invite to the All-Star game. Does Stern get to pick the replacements?</div> Yea Okur has been a stud (not in a gay way) this season. He has been a little streaky from the 3 point line, but hey one game he's 7/7 the next game he's 0/7. He's a winner, and I have never seen him hit so many clutch shots until this season. Thank you Locke <div class="quote_poster">J_Ray Wrote</div><div class="quote_post">You guys know what's insane, Tony Parker made it over Deron Williams. what's up with that? I don't think there has ever been a player to lead the league in scoring *while shooting 49%* and not make the ASG.
