IT concerns me a little (as an Aussie) since I am applying for the defence force, I just hope whoever is in will pull the US out of Iraq and we will soon follow.

You'll hear them when they start having panel debates. Right now the canidates are justs posturing for support and will say what the people want to hear. I want a president who's ready to start fixing the problems in the US and not one who's fixated on the problems of other countries.

I'ma smack you with your keyboard if you don't stop.

Barrack Obama has done some dirt, he tried cocaine and used weed when he was a teenager, and he came out with this publicly as well--at least he was honest. Of course he has been clean.

I honestly think he cares about improving home rather than improving somebody elses country. Which is why I'll vote for him if he decides to run.

I can't see myself voting for Hilary, I can't stand politicians who are super extreme on one side or the other and she seems way too left wing for me. Don't know much about Obama's politics but he doesn't seem as crazily liberal so I would probably vote for him, Guliani would also be acceptable since I'm sure he knows how to balance his views and keep everyone happy.

Of course if Hilary was elected and she was basically just like Bill Clinton then I would be satisfied as well.

That really was a ridiculous post you made though.

I've watched those shows on the History Channel and I don't recall that they ever said anything about the world ending in 2012. I believe the Mayans (or a similar group, I'm too lazy to look it up) think the world will end in 2012, not Christians.

Hilary Clinton won't win the democratic nomination - period. I am not a sexist by any means but America is not ready to elect a female President.

I like John McCain, but his hopes don't look to promising because of his firm stance on the war. On a positive note, at least he doesn't flip-flop on his opinion - you know where he stands.

Everyone has skeletons in thier closet but Guiliani has WAY to many skeletons in his closet. He has no experience in any position higher then Mayor of NYC. There is flat out no way he wins the Republican nomination.

Obama is the interesting one. He is very young and relatively inexperienced at the national level. Since he hasn't been around long, he hasn't been able to get accustomed to the politcal life in Washington as much as the others. One very interesting thing about him is his background especially growing up with a Muslim influence. Personally, I think he is the only person running that has a legitimate chance of having peace in the middle east with the Arab world.

I think Obama will win the election.

See thats thing he didn't really grow up under a Muslim influence. His mom remarried an Indonessian man and he was in Indonessia for a couple of years therefore he HAD to go to a Muslim school. I'm just saying this because its a misconception that Barack Obama is muslim, people have actually told me "I wouldn't vote for him, he is a muslim"

Yea, I remember Fox News started making such a big deal about him learning in a madrasa, which could've provided a fundamentalist education. Then when CNN actually bothered to check up on it, they found it was just a typical private school. I don't see that as a big issue.

Fox News is a PR tool for the conservative party. I wouldn't put much stock in anything they report on. I wouldn't mind Obama winning, but I just hope he has the support to get things accomplished. The last thing the US needs is a lameduck president.

Oh i agree. Barack isn't Muslim, he just has experiences in dealing with them since thats how he was forced to grow up.

I think thats an amazing thing and something that could really help restore some semblance of peace in the Middle East.

Honestly, I was apathetic towards the past presidential elections since I was young and unable to vote at the time. But in 2008 I'll be 18 and fully eligible to vote.

I love how Guiliani managed 9/11, but unfortunately, Hunter is right.

Is America ready for a black president (Obama is black, correct?) more so a woman president?

Btw, for the record, I don't think even Obama could get any peace with the middle east.

Why wouldn't America be ready for a black or female president?

If not, when will they be?

I think its about time the parties stopped asking if America's ready for a black/woman president and just forced them to choose themselves.

I just have a feeling we'll either have a black president or we'll have a female president.

In Quran (holy book of Muslims) it says that womens will eventually rule the world. And I just have a weird feeling its about to start now.
