<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">KCAL 9 is going high definition starting with Friday's game between the Los Angeles Lakers and Indiana Pacers.

KCAL 9 HD will be available to all customers of Time Warner Cable in Southern California as part of Time Warner Cable's basic HD service.

All 18 of KCAL 9's remaining 2006-07 regular season Lakers games, plus Lakers playoff games on KCAL 9, will be produced in HDTV. In addition, KCAL 9 will show all of its 2007 Los Angeles Dodgers broadcasts in HDTV.

In addition to the sports programming, KCAL 9 will join sister station CBS2 in producing a combined 11 hours of live, local newscasts in high definition each weekday when the two stations move into a new state-of-the-art studio in Studio City.

Time Warner Cable (NYSE: TWC) is the largest cable provider in Southern California.

KCAL 9 and CBS2 are both owned by CBS Corp. (NYSE: CBS). KCAL has been the flagship station for the Lakers since 1977.

This is the reason why i got an 46' HD TV and Direct TV HD but i did know that KCAL will not contact his HD channel with Direct TV right away. Hopefully, they do it soon.
