But there must have been times during their stretch of eight losses in nine games when they yearned for someone capable of carrying a team on his own.

    Someone like Vince Carter.

    Maybe even Vince Carter himself.</div>

No thanks. He is like some spoiled child. When his team is losing, or things aren't going his way he always seems to stop playing to the best of his abilities.

Since when has he done that, he had a stretch where he wasnt playing good and lately we have been losing and he is still playing hard. People are allowed to go on a bad stretch. You cant hold something against someone for what they did in the past, also why dont we say the same thing for T-Mac he said there was sometimes where he didnt give it his all.

He's a T-Mac fan and doesn't realize that quitting when you're being paid 14 million dollars is beyond pathetic.

We wouldn't want T-Mac either, genius.

^ yea, of course not after he carried that team for how many years with no help, they never tried to put anyone around him. Im sure most players knowing there playing hard day n and day out would give up on there team knowing the oganization wasnt gonna help him out by bringing in someone. I dont really want to see Vince in a magic uniform, but id love to see magic fans like you cheering for him once he got there. You can say you wont but if he does come and your winning you'll jump on the bandwagon like everyone else.

Giving up must run in the McGrady / Carter gene pool.

Of course if we sign him I'm gonna cheer for VC since he will be a Magic. I won't want him to not succeed. I would be very very skeptical though. I don't want him.

Vince Carter is a playmaker, a guy who demands double teams, and a guy who can flat-out carry the scoring load. The Magic need all of those. Jameer is more of a scorer than a playmaker at pg so Vince would complement him well as he did with Alvin in Toronto. He would also take a lot of pressure off Dwight, who is the only guy on Orlando who draws doubles. He's not a great defender, but pair him with a good defensive sf, and Dwight and Darko down-low, and it wouldn't really matter.

Once you have Vince, you can trade Hedo for a shooter who can play D (Granger?), and you're set. He would also open up looks for a guy like Redick. I love VC in NJ, but their are too many playmakers on that team and only one ball to go around. He would be a perfect fit in Orlando and a guy who could turn them into contenders.

I don't want Vince Carter in Orlando.

Any player that has admitted to giving up on his team is not someone I want to add to our core.

not that that means anything. Carter is a bit of a baby, but he could have been a very special player if he had the heart or the ballz.

The Magic have fallen off as of late and are in jeopardy of losing a playoff spot again. They need another legitimate offensive threat on offense to complement Howard, and they desparately need a playmaker. Vince can be both of those. Do you want this team to be a contender in the East, or do you want a first-round exit? I can't tell.

You also have to factor in our younger players' growh. Ariza, Darko, and Dwight would not be getting as many touches if VC was here.

I actually think Vince would be a great fit for this team. The Magic are lacking a star wing player and will be in need of one especially once grant hill is done. With the addition of vince carter the magic would become a dominant eastern team with there inside outside combo of him and Dwight Howard. Orlando should try to make it happen.

If I was a magic fan, I'd much rather have a first round exit then VC on my team. Firstly he'll demand a chunk of change, taking away what the magic can offer they many young players. Secondly he's a cancer. I don't care what anyone says to me about him changing, there is no way I'll forget what he did to Toronto for everything they put in him, they hero-worshiped him here, and he just went ruined everything for us. He didn't even have the decency to put up his value so we could trade him. After everything Toronto invested him he just stabbed the fans in the back. (I'm not talking about management, because they were all prats and deserved it)

Why would you want a player on your team who is afraid of contact, and has a history of dogging it? ESPECIALLY when you have an excellent core. The only thing VC can do is harm their development, so brining him in here would be a huge mistake, and probably ruin the entire rebuilding process that you guys went through.

Also, in terms of development, I think he's pretty much hit his ceiling. I mean you can expect the scoring and playmaking ability to always be there (especially in his first season), but then you have to accept the fact that he probably won't ever overcome the inevitable inconsistency and leadership problems that he's shown.

If I were the Magic, I'd definitely seek a younger player who at least has the chance of become more valuable than the money he's being paid (as opposed to Carter who may even start to decline in the near future).

Ray Allen is the guy I want. I wish we could work something out with Seattle to get him.
